Interesting. Plot these two sets of rankings as I just laid them out (admittedly my own view there based on the data). They are almost totally inversely proportional to each other with one gigantic exception.

I wonder what differences there would be if they would have done this over only the last 6 weeks of the regular season? Some teams (Pittsburgh, Green Bay, etc.) have been hot lately and were not as good over the course of the entire season.

Patriots - Best player, best coach, best overall talent
Dallas - best RB, best OL, D is improving ( far from top 5 but improving)
Atl - MVP, top 5 running game, top 3 WR, couple of playmakers on D, they gave up lots of points on garbage time ( Saints scored 3 TD's when the game was 38 - 11, first game same thing 42 - 35, but the game was 42-25)
Pitt- Best Overall back imo, great qb, best WR, decent OL, good D
KC - Best TO differential, good QB, great TE, great S, but have guys that don't match their partners talent Gaines is pretty weak imo, and without Derrick Johnson ...
GB - Great QB, GREAT OL, improved D but still weak imo
Sea - Great D but without Thomas they gave up 38 pionts to GB (5 TO won't happen again), they were shreded by Palmer. Kaep could win the game if SF wanted to. Lions dropped a lot of passes and their QB is pretty bad. So i am saying that Thomas is by far the best player, and that's a huge loss
Hou - D is pretty good, and they have Hopkins

Right now I think GB/Atlanta are both playing near as well as they can. Peaking but that can fall off fast. Dallas is the 2nd best team but has overall been giving a meh performance recently on the whole. Pitt/KC/Seattle are all in the same boat. Looks great sometimes and not so great others and it seems it has a lot to do with HF. Houston is just happy to be here. We all know what they are and so do they.
