Jets Suck -- 2016 Edition (Official): Futility Confirmed

If I had the choice to either party with Brady or Joker, I'm choosing Joker.

I once went to a Halloween party dressed as a rhinocerous. The party raged on into the morning hours at which point I smashed through one of the walls inside the Victorian mansion and smashed the big oak door on the way out. Pretty expensive friggin' "party" but I was young and had too much money anyway, may as well kick in for the damage, right? Cost me 600 bucks. What an idiot.

I don't go out on Halloween anymore, I'm glad to report.

Well yeah, me too. Brady is an awesome QB, but let's face it, he's not the type of guy ya wanna have a beer with.

A party at with Brady probably involves orgain fruit/vegetable smoothies and manicures.

I'm sure Joker at least sneaks some vodka in his Ensure drinks on occasion.

Well I kind of envision a Hangover V type of thing with Joker. Missing teeth, a tattoo, burning down Roger's house .... you know fun stuff.

Smh... New Englanders. Animals.

Bring your Rhino suit up to prouts neck and I'll bring my bulldozer driver's costume complete with bulldozer.

I know exactly where that MFer lives in Scarborough, ME. I have a pretty decent size house and he makes my pad look like a hellhole refugee camp.

we need to return his fortress to the People!!! I'm calling for a Bashsteal Day! OK, this is a play on the French Bastille Day...got it? good...now go get your shinebox Jet fan

That was absolutely hilarious. Cheers to Woody for that one.
I thought it was hilarious as well.

Are you good w/ Mac n Bowles another year?

You know what they say... the bigger the house the bigger the bon fire. Bring some marshmallows.

You know, with an entire new 53 man roster and coaches, new ownership, new nickname, logo and colors and a relocation to Guatemala that team might not suck so hard.

Nah....They'd still just be Jets masquerading as someone else.

I understand it completely. Its Corporate America. Its survival of the fittest in the NFL. If you suck, you pay the price. If you are good, you lay waste.

I actually have a bigger problem with the Bills and LOLphins than the Jets. That team and those fans were complete doochbags.

I actually watched the Pats/Jets game X-Mas eve with my close friend Jets buddy. His wife and kids were over too so he kept it low key on his rants but he is seething and ready to go postal on Woody. He wants Woody to sell the team once hes made ambassador and/or hire a real football guy who has complete control over budget, culture...everything.

Agreed. Bills fans might be some of the most delusional people on earth. They bought into Rex after NY. And then got pumped when he brought in Rob.

Every fan base has yahoos but they are classless morons. From 1989-1993 it was brutal dealing with a few when I was at college. They were merciless.

Although it was fun when they lost SBs

I am. But only because they're still learning. As mentioned previously, if this Fitz decision was made even a year later (when Macc n Bowles were in their 3rd year) I'd be all for firing them on the spot. Now though, suppose I just have to write it off to inexperience and potentially crumbling under the NY media pressure.

Really no way to escape growing pains with rookie GMs and coaches. Can't keep flipping 'em every year or two. I'd agree with those saying at least three years are needed.

They both did well their rookie years and took a huge step back in 2016. Looking forward to see if they can learn from their mistakes and improve in 2017. I think they both can, but have more optimism for Macc. Bowles deciding to keep Fitz playing week after week after week... shows a rare sort of incompetence.

Also believe Woody is correct in saying a playoff birth isn't required for them to keep their jobs. That could cause both to sellout the future for short-term success. I'd be happy with even 6 or 7 wins if it meant young prospects (oline, QB, DBs...) showing promise and improving.

Of course ideally I see a real potential of getting younger, but also with choice veterans sticking around to successfully rebuild while challenging for a wildcard as well.

Should be yet another interesting offseason.

Yeah I get what you are saying but I respectfully disagree. Sure the local media puts out a lazy product that attracts listeners but I'd argue that after listening to NY Radio for 3 years that there is a better possible product.

I don't want to hear "I'm not paid to be a fan" BS. I don't want to hear a puck head and his bat boy analyze football. I want to hear real fans talking real football instead of click bait contrarians looking for ratings.

Joe B, Mike F and a lot of the WFAN crew are real fans of their respective teams. I like that. If you call in as a Boston fan they will razz you like a NY fan would. Fun and enjoyable radio. We don't have that.

Maybe it's for the best. I've been listening to a lot of NPR over the last few years. Educational.

Perhaps NY fans are more intelligent, less gullible and emotionally needy than are Boston fans, and that explains the success of a better product there.

Here is a Jets fan from JetsFanForum responding to a Pats fan in which the topic was the anniversary of "I resign as HC of the NYJ". The conversation predictably turned into jealousy and accusations from the fools who don't know how to talk football and keep on topic. But a few responses were somewhat related to the topic.
Here is a Jets fan from JetsFanForum responding to a Pats fan who stated that Belichick left the organization in 2000 because he saw the train wreck starting, which, let's be honest, he wasn't wrong.

Just look at the intellectual deviancy and sociopathic degeneracy of a Jets fan who, miraculously, is able to put together collection of thoughts rather coherently. A classic display of projecting insecurities to those whom you consider rivals by standing on the moral highground of farce.
He states he cannot possibly see how the Jets are egomaniacs given their constant corrupt league office activities and continuous illegal behavior towards their daddies up north and then follows up with all sorts of examples to describe Belichick and this fan base, which, word for word, is a perfect description of the Jets and their fanbase instead.

This individual has to live a life explaining to his kids why the Jets are closing in on 50 years of futility, why the Jets are playing Russian Roulette with every coach they hire and quarterback they draft, why the Jets overpay for veterans who break down quickly, why the Jets are the second fiddle in the city they play in along with the fact that they don't have their own stadium, why the stadium the Jets play in is in the middle of a swamp, why the Jets fans around the stadium use words that can't be repeated on here but are shouted every 10 seconds at a Jets game.

I am quite happy and lucky to have picked the Patriots as my team of rooting interest, rather than a downtrodden collection of filth. Envy and shame go hand in hand with Jets fandom. It should be classified as a mental disorder.

There's some impressive, I don't know, rationalizing? delusion? both? in that Jets fan's post. In short, his claim is that successful people are sociopaths and they must immoral and underhanded things for their organization to achieve success. The team he roots for hasn't achieved much success, but that's okay because they're going about things in a proper and honorable fashion. This sap also seems to believe that the Jets coaches and management care about him as a person.

When it comes to decency and sportsmanship, Rex Ryan is one of the first names that comes to mind. And his personal life? Who better to hold as an example for your kids than a guy who watches his wife have sex with other men. You want to talk about someone who's trustworthy and doesn't blame others for their poor choices? Eric Mangini is your guy. And when it comes to holding baseless grudges, no one would ever accuse Mike Kensil of that.

It's probably better that that Jets fan is so ignorant of the actions and behavior of the people running his favorite team. If he ever learned the truth, his carefully constructed alternate reality would fall apart.

Lol agreed, but imagine being a Jet, Bill or Fish fan the past two decades. I think you'll understand if we'll root for a couple years of the Pats sucking once TB12 retires.
I guess you missed the part where we went 3-1 without Brady...

Nope, it was an impressive couple wins, but hardly scary.

2008 seems more relevant.

yeah, but it SQUASHED your puny, unfounded hope that THIS season would be the Rats time to rise to the top. Again, that annoying Rat fan habit of minimizing by using disingenuous phrasing. It's a coping mechanism, obviously. I should hazard a guess that even Pats fans would resort to such pathetic tactics if the Pats were a completely shytstink franchise on the level of the NY Jets.
