No, it's not. He's not going to light you up statistically but he's patient, takes what is given, and doesn't commit a lot of unforced errors. Combine that with the fact that he's also mobile and you have the type of quarterback that gives Belichick a headache.

I've rarely seen an Alex smith type give a BB defense problems.

He's not a quarterback you want throwing the ball 50 times either. Most quarterbacks shouldn't be passing the ball 50 times in a game outside of a select few. Still, he didn't make any boneheaded mistakes and kept the Chiefs on schedule. They lost by 7 in a notoriously tough place to play. That's what I mean about Smith. He's not spectacular. Neither was Pennington who was in the same vein. But he's smart, accurate, mobile, and won't do you many favors by making mistakes.

What I find interesting, is that NE isn't listed as a match up problem for KC. NE is more of a mismatch for KC than Pittsburgh is. KC's run defense has been horrendous this season, especially up the middle. Blount should have a lot of success running the ball up the gut. NE can also employ a very efficient quick/short passing attack, which is usually what gives KC's passing defense fits.

So while I think that KC could potentially give us the closest game of any AFC team and that they'd be more capable of taking advantage of any mistakes, I'm also very confident that if the team plays up to its potential, it should be a fairly comfortable victory.

Ugh - yeah I've been thinking this all along. Alex Smith is exactly the type of QB to gobble up the yards we'll offer him. Ben is inevitably going to try to go long at some point.

Depends on your definition. Mobile QBs make some plays but don't win like pocket passers do.

Someone mentioned to me that in the NFL, the team with the best record never wins the Superbowl. So I went back and looked to see if a team had the best record in the NFL in any given year, did they win the superbowl. From my quick search, it looks like only 3 times since 1990 has the team with the best regular season record (not tied with anyone) won the superbowl. The Pats in 2003, the 49ers in 1994 and the Redskins in 1991. It is a rare event and I am looking forward to the Pats of 2016 adding this accomplishment to their memorable year!

NFC is definitely a MUCH tougher road this season. Pretty much any of those teams could be a good fight for us, except the Lions. Giants defense is amazing right now. Green Bay offense is playing lights out. Seattle is Seattle. Dallas has crazy offensive line, RB, and decent game manager QB. Atlanta Matt Ryan is having an MVB season, their offense is explosive as hell.

If we are fortunate enough to make the SB it is going to be a helluva game! I really hope it is Green Bay, been wanting that matchup for a long time.
