I hope these guys make money because they certainly are not winning football games. I add Revis to the mix, and these stud players teams have a combined record of 18 wins – 56 losses this season.

§ Jamie Collins was graded as the worst edge defender this past weekend. There are also several highlights on the internet of him taking plays off.

§ Chandler Jones had 8 sack in his first 10 games but in true Chandler Jones fashion has just 1.5 sacks in the past 5. Double whammy for Jones, not only did he go to a losing team but he left a state that now has legalized marijuana

§ Dominique Easley has performed well in a backup role.

§ Hicks has had a very good year for the Bears.

§ Revis is the cornerback version of Peyton Manning last season.

If you look at this from an employment perspective, they are being paid more and working less since they all have January and February off.

I hope Hightower and Butler realize that they might make more green elsewhere but the grass is going to be brown as the Browns record.

I'm happy for Hicks. I still wish he was here but Vinny V has really filled the role.

My understanding is he was offered more money but was offered more playing time. Not the worst decision in the world.

Hicks has had a good, solid season. I'm surprised to be mentioning him over the others, but good on him for effort & production. I don't fault him for pursuing playing time & money.

People really hate Revis. I think he was fantastic in 2014 : effort, production, attitude.

I'm sad Collins didn't pan out. But I'm glad NE's D has been stout this winter.

The return for Jones speaks for itself. Good trade.

As it all turned out Hicks was the guy we'd all like to have back. 20-20 hindsight is a beautiful thing.

I really wanted him back and I think a lot of others did too. He played very well here and got noticed by the whole league. Well-deserved, turns out he was just a victim of terrible defensive coaching/scheme in NO.

I just want Chandler to know I voted in favor of legalizing marijuana in AZ...just for him.

"Jamie, Chandler, Dominic and Akiem... good news... you're headed to a different division..."

patriot players not with the program get traded to bad teams and those team continue to be bad.

in other news water is wet, salt is salty, and jeff fisher isnt going ****ing 7-9

Revis is a mercenary that admits to being a mercenary; I can respect that. I'm not about to criticize a guy for chasing the money when it's something that I'd probably do, too.
I agree with you about Revis being a mercenary and not having to apologize for it. He never made it a secret or pretended he wasn't one. I will say, however, that in my opinion he has quit on his team and on himself. He's no longer working for and earning his money so he actually hasn't kept his half of the deal he made with the Jets. For that, he should apologize, but I doubt he ever will. In 1959, injuries and age resulted in Ted Williams having a subpar season hitting .254 with 10 home runs and 43 RBI, all far below his career averages. Reportedly, Williams was embarrassed enough to try and give back some of his salary, but Tom Yawkey refused to take it. Different times...

Jones was traded to a team that was expected to compete for the Super Bowl.
Easley was a cut.
Hicks was a guy the Patriots wanted back, but chose to move on.
Collins is the only one who was traded to a known dumpster fire of a team.

There's no pattern here. There's no meaning here. It's just random trivia.

Hicks is the only one BB actually wanted back, given the last minute call he received in free agency to change his mind and return. Similar to the call he put in to mccourty when he was ready to leave for the Giants.

So, 4 for 4 for BB. What a gift to have a talent evaluator like that.

Except, of course, that it's not 4 for 4.

Job satisfaction + very good salary > no job satisfaction + excellent salary.

Exactly. We're not talking about accepting peanuts, just about factoring in the employer in your job decision rather than solely aiming for every last dollar. (And yes, I have followed that advice in my own career.)

There's also more to the financial equation than just the contract. Does anybody imagine that Malcolm Butler would be headlining a national Visa commercial if, say, the Jaguars had invited him to their training camp instead of the Patriots?
