You ignore the Year of Cassel. He can't win w/o Brady. Well OK he can but at best he would be .500. OK well at best he'd be 3-1.

My edit....
Then they quickly shifted the goalposts with "Brady must be a system QB".
Belichick and Brady have had a fine system, as Walsh and Montana did.
Pats missed the playoffs that year and he ended up trading Cassel, who was our future franchise QB for a lowly 2nd round pick and then wasted that pick on some stiff named Patrick Chung. Obviously even then Bill did not have a clue as to how to build a team. You ignore the Year of Cassel.
The guy in Baltimore whose name escape me is universally acknowledged as being the best GM in the league
"The preparation, I think it came when I was asked to stay within the organization," Newsome said. "I just asked Mr. Modell. I wanted to stay on the football side, and he allowed that, but the preparation came from being around Ernie Accorsi and Bill Belichick and being able to listen to those guys for the first two or three years and to gain as much education as I could get.
And the key thing here is Walsh essentially only had to build his team once and then tweek it year to year. Bill has had to completely rebuild his roster about 3 times (aside from the QB) and done it in a much more difficult environment. Not to mention the head winds of spygate, deflategate, and rules changes. All this to say that Belichick is the best GM/coach since Walsh? Are there those who disagree?
Inviting some Xs here but WTF...
BB is the GOAT coach.
He's a good GM, but not GOAT status. He's probably the GOAT in terms of knowing when to move/cut a player. Not the GOAT GM otherwise.
IMP, having the GOAT QB, a player that has been extremely flexible with his contract, has made his life (as a GM in particular) infinitely easier.
BB and TFB are incredibly lucky to have coincided with each other.
And we as fans are even luckier.
That would make the Patriots 30th in the NFL for spending on starters.
No other team manages the roster, works free agency and drafts better than the Patriots.
Financial stability, not overspending in FA, retaining key talent, and developing young players are all keys to success in NFL...and none one has done it as well or as long as Belichick has
For example...just compare our current record to the 3 other teams who made the Conference Finals
Patriots 12-2
Broncos 8-6
Panthers 6-8
Cardinals 5-8-1
In Bill We Trust

I think BB the GM is fortunate to have BB the coach and have TB12 the QB.
I think BB the coach is fortunate to have BB the GM.
They work great together. So glad they get along.
Come on man, please don't ask me to back up anything I say!Just out of curiosity what GM's would you put ahead of BB?
It just occurred to me that if BB and TFB played for the Giants or Rats rather than the Pats, they would be recognized as the Gr8est HC/QB duo to ever play the game.
They already are, but they would likely have won a couple of more Superbowls, and there would NO cheating scandals associated with them, because **** Goodell, Mara, Johnson, and the entire corrupt NFL* !!!!
