Mounting frustration in Denver locker room: "Any time we hold Brady to 16 points, we expect to win!"

Who won this game BTW?!?! from the post game comments it sure seems like the Broncos D is pretty damn happy with themselves in holding Brady to 16 points instead of being upset in how they are now being pretty much out of the playoff race.

Brady took the game plan and executed. 6 drops didn't help him get into any kind of rhythm at the start, but he found his Binky 11 and with a great O line performance, was just fine down the stretch. That's the beauty of Brady - he takes what the D gives him and was methodical in how he carried the O yesterday. No forcing anything, no panic. Our D was so solid he didn't need to and Brady cares less about his stats. Personally, its one of his best games this year. He really is the perfect QB for this team (or any team for that matter).

I thought the Broncos' D played outstanding.

I did a little research, games in which Brady and the Patriots scored 16 or less points and won..
12/16/01 12-9 vs Buf
10/26/03 9-3 vs Clev
11/16/03 12-0 vs Dallas
12/7/03 12-0 vs Miami ( Bruschi snowballs)
10/24/04 13-7 vs NYJ
12/4/05 16-3 vs NYJ
9/12/13 13-10 v NYJ
9/21/14 16-9 vs Oak
12/17/16 16-3 vs Den

Notice anything??
They have won 9 games in the Brady era scoring less than 16 points (EDIT 16 points or less). In the eight games before yesterday when it happened, six of them happened in years when they won the Super Bowl ( once in 2001, three times in 2003, once in 2004 and once in 2014)

Lewis was one DB away from a TD (2x - or White was the other one). They have a good D. plus Brady wasn't in a good day. But our D is better, that's why we won.

Good, perhaps. Outstanding, no. Outstanding means you walk off the field with a W and they didn't. They could not stop the run and our O line handled the line.

That was kinda the plan.

The goal was to keep TB12 in check and they only yeilded 16 points to this offense. That is a major accomplishment in itself.

Someone should tell Elway you can't win games 6-3. You need to have a little bit of offense.

See what happens when they don't get points off turnovers? They have no chance.

Difference between someone carrying the football, Tackle the man with the ball. Not cut block 30 yards away from the play.

I think the funniest part is Charmin soft Demaryius Thomas is blaming this season on a lack of a QB and how last year was a fluke.

DT, look in the mirror. You are the softest WR in the NFL. maybe you should step up when your team needs someone on offense to step up.

They found lightening in a bottle last year with Manning's horrible play and won the SB because they faced a very immature (but talented) Carolina team with a QB that is just not that hungry.

To quote the great Trent Dilfer, "Face it, they are just not good anymore"!!!!

No doubt....sound, complementary football in all 3 phases....is truly a hallmark of Super Bowl -caliber teams. Special teams, defense, and coaching ---- this team seems to have it all

Agree completely, he's the softest player in the NFL, hit him hard once and he's done for the day.

Nicely done.

I actually think Seimien is a good looking QB for a rookie. Just needs more game experience and a running game. A TE as well would help.

Pats D was great yesterday. He didn't have much of a chance.

Yeah, but this is not the same Patriots team from last year's championship game. Brady didn't need to make 56 passes. This offense has better blocking, and is more dependent on the run. And if you can't stop the run, then you can't call yourself outstanding.

Why in the world would Kubes have someone speak right after the game and make it an offensive player? No wonder tempers boiled over. Those guys are still in the heat of the moment following the game. That's something that...

1. Should have been given to a defensive player.

and

2. Should have taken place today.

They only allowed 16 points and shut down Tom.

If we did that to say Green Bay or ATL I'd say the same thing.

Foolish of the Broncos to think the gameplan wouldn't have opened up if the Patriots needed to. It should have appeared obvious that was a typical complimentary performance by the Patriots except this time, it was the O complimenting the D. New England's D dominated Denver and the Patriots O played a conservative, ball control game. Frankly, Denver's D was lucky the Pats uncharacteristically dropped balls as it could have very easily been 30-3.
