Pats claim WR Michael Floyd

So he traveled from Arizona to New England and on to Denver, he is probably a mess with the Jetlag, probably inactive Sunday.

I'm assuming he'll stay away from the wet bar in the hotel room.
WOW, I didn't expect him to be on the flight after just one day with the team. Maybe Bill just wants him with the group to help get aclimated, I can't imagine having him active for this game, but who knows at this point

I think the DUI laws need to be reexamined a bit but, that said, there really isn't an excuse nowadays for a millionaire athlete not to have Uber or Lyft. It's ridiculously easy to get and, unless they're surging (which said athlete can afford), they're cheaper than the cab companies. All you do is touch your phone screen three times and you have a car on the way to pick you up.

There is no way that he'll be activated. It's been years since he's played in this offense. He'll need time to learn it. It's probably just a way for him to get to know everyone.

I would not be shocked if he didn't play until the last game of the year, gives him 2 weeks of practice.

Wouldn't surprise me either, but if I had to guess I'd say no way he sees the field this week (just good to be with the team), gets on the field for a few plays next week just to get his feet wet, and then plays a bit against Miami, hopefully by that point getting a catch or two. Then a couple weeks to the playoffs.

Hell, as we've seen, if you can make an impact on just one play, that can be the difference between winning or losing a championship.

Also, I did not have time to read through the whole thread, but are others worried that if the guy shows anything (or maybe even if he doesn't) that Fraudger Badell will immediately swoop in and suspend him, because he can, and especially since the guy ended up with the Pats?
I think that's entirely possible, if not likely. Like others, my first thought was that Goodell. wouldn't/couldn't impose discipline until the matter is adjudicated. But, history shows he can do whatever he wants discipline-wise whenever he wants. He'll screw NE every chance he gets.

maybe he could just be a decoy - just run as fast as he can and pretend the balls thrown to him

surely he can learn maybe 5 endzone plays? insert him when the patriots are inside the 10-yard line.

Not every locality has Uber or Lyft service.

Scottsdale did and they're growing. When I can't use Uber and I'm that blasted, I use a taxi.

If he's not in the right option route or in the right place where Brady expects him to be, it could result in a turnover. He needs to learn the offense and the route tree first.

I've been surprised before. After all, they are going into this game with 3 legit WRs. If one goes down then Slater is WR3. So the question is who is a better WR4 which now becomes a WR3. Matthew Slater or Michael Floyd?

Here is BB on the travel.

On value of traveling:

Absolutely. Yeah, no question. Gives us time to catch him up on assignments and procedures and things that relate to the team and for him to see the operation pregame, during the game. Whether a player’s active or inactive, just it takes some of the surprise element out of next time it happens. I’m sure there will be some things that if any of us went to any new team it would be different from whatever team we’re used to being with. Sometimes those things are an adjustment, sometimes they’re not, but I think it’s good just to get into the routine with the new team you’re on. There’s always a little bit of hesitation until you know exactly. First day of work, it’s always a little bit, ‘How is it? How does this go? How does that go?’ And then once you get comfortable, it’s just different. It takes time.”

The only thing is a lot of millionaire athletes have a superiority complex so they are less likely to want to use uber, especially if they drive fast cars.

Im excited and wanted him in the offseason in my trade Chandler Jones to AZ rants.
However Weis said he could win a Superbowl with Brady Quinn.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I called you out on that and ended up being wrong now. Mea culpa.

Eh, doesn't excuse it if you're hammered enough to be passed out at the wheel. But I see what you're saying.

Didn't slater screw up an assignment when he went on as a wr the last game? Anyone remember what that was?
