Who is the best available Kickoff/Punt returner? / Devin Hester released

Right now may need to be a tad more conservative on returns and focus on possessing the ball.

Need to coach some common sense ball control here..

Whalen on punts..
James White/Bolden on Kickoffs..

If they sign Hester, do they cut Whalen and get a WR who know the system - like AD or KT?

Good plan fellas .. sign the guy that has more fumbles than Cyrus Jones to fix a fumbling issue.

Holy crap. He has 5 fumbles this year. Yikes!

It's fumble inception!!!

So, I got into watching rugby during the Olympics, and am really a fan now. My son joined a local rugby club, and the club has a big boy team that plays up in Saratoga. There's a team from Boston in their league, and another from RI, I think.

Anyway, I took my son to watch them play, and during the game, someone boots it real high and out of bounds. I see my chance, call for it, and field that moonshot cleanly on the sideline ("touch line" in rugby jargon). I hear a couple players yell, "Wow! Nice catch!" I toss it back like it's no big deal, but on the inside I feel like a champ.

What I'm saying is I'm available, and I won't muff that **** on the 2.

So what you are saying is: We should have Ebner return punts. GREAT TIP, I LIKE IT!

Uh, what, you mean you were serious about yourself, . . .getoutahere!

Same amount = 5, but yes, Hester has struggled with return miscues too.

Watching Ebner on the rugby field in the Olympics I wish he could run 'em back.

Hes a load.

BB's gotta do something. Bring in guys for workouts, to put a spark under their ass, at a minimum! Step up the competition. There is a serious confidence/ lack of concentration/... problem. Jones is just so disappointing considering all of the hype. This is an area that is putting the Pats games in jeopardy. And I understand the Faulk, Ridley comparisons. But the playoffs are fast approaching, The O line has improved, the secondary is starting to gel. Even Ghost is getting his groove back, But the PR's are so iffy, yet so important. They need at least one dependable guy to focus on that one position. Who that guy is...???? WTF can't Jones calm down and do what he is physically capable of??? . AAAAAAH!!!!

how bout just let Jules fair catch every punt

A good idea for a game or two, or for parts of games.

I would think Bolden might be rugged enough, but not sure of his capacity to make these split second decisions. I could see him learning the position and alternating with a more break-away runner, depending on the situation. If we're 10 points ahead, ball control is paramount--so we assign the ball control guy.
