If Flacco was confused .. how will Siemian cope ..

Plus:
It was great to see NE run over #1 run D (chapeau to Mason and Develin).
Without Marshall and Davis most likely .. this will not be an easy task for Denver.
And with no running game to support let alone rely on .. a tough week for banged up Siemian.
With Rowe likely good to go (vs Thomas) .. its hard not to be optimistic about this one.

I'm never optimistic when the Pats play in Denver.

Denver has one of the worst run defenses in the leauge. I expect to see alot of Blount early and often. that should open up play action passing for some big plays later in the game and slow down the pass rushers.

their own run game hasnt been too spectacular either. so we could get siemian into some 3rd and longs and confuse him.

I love the way they played last night. They were aggressive with the run game, and pressured Flacco more than they've done on most nights this season. Probably the best all around game since Houston (OK, not special teams, but O and D for sure). That said, it doesn't take much to lose a game even when everything is going well. It almost happened last night. We've all seen bad things happen, especially in Denver.

The Patriots are a better team than Denver, but these coaches will no doubt remind them of what happened 11 months ago, and how even small mistakes can lead to disaster. Denver will be playing for their playoff lives, and need this win. The Pats were rolling last season and then ran into a "buzzsaw" of Philly, Miami, and the Jets.

Superbowl winning teams take nothing for granted, and hopefully this Pats team won't. Denver in Mile High should never be underestimated.

The thing I dread most about the Denver game next week is Nantz/Simms on CBS. Uff..

I would LOVE to be able to turn off the sound and listen to the game on the radio. WBLM always covers Pats games. However, and this really torques me off, they have a 5 second delay and there's no way to sync the sound with the TV. Sigh.

Mostly, at my age, I'm able to tune out the broadcast crew, hear them mostly as background noise asI concentrate on the action on the field. That, and copious quantities of beer make things tolerable.

Its founded. With as much ass-kicking this team has done , there are certain teams we just don't want to play.

Playing the Ravens- always a slugfest
Playing DEN in DEN- 'nuff said
Playing in MIA- A handfull of games in which the Pats have executed poorly
Playing the Giants- 'nuff said.

I think they're better than the JV pair that passes for Monday Night Football nowadays.

I am not sure I agree. Gruden can at least be insightful when he gets to analyze a play.

The best example was on that weird - almost lateral - pass from Brady to Mitchell yesterday in the second half. Everyone's first reaction was about how stupid and ugly that pass was, but then Gruden pointed out that Brady actually read Weddle to blitz pre-snap and anticipated Mitchell to be open. However, Weddle faked Brady out and collapsed to Mitchell instead which added a lot of context to the decision making inside Brady.

I don't remember the last time I learned anything from Jim and Phil.

Fair enough, I just get frustrated at the ratio of inanity to analysis from Gruden. (PLIABLE!!!) I'd say that Cris Collinsworth, despite his grating manner, is the announcer who most consistent delivers actual football analysis right now.

Actually, I take that back. I heard an exemplary broadcast team a couple of weeks ago: the Broncos' radio announcers. Ed McCaffrey deserves a network color job, he's really good.

I agree I also like Collinsworth a lot. Tirico gained a lot of respect from me for immediately calling out the "catch not completed" situation at the end of KC vs. Denver.

btw. I completely get what your issue with MNF and in general I agree. It's just that sometimes Gruden lets go of that zany persona he has, starts talking XOs and gives amazing insight.

I don't want to go on an even bigger tangent but the lack of proper analysis is one of he most frustrating things for me. The amount of time we lose to commercials and other crap when we could get in depth, nuanced analysis in between plays. It could fundamentally help with educating a lot of the "shallow fans" about the complexity behind the game.

This morning I open Patfans n scroll thru the volume of new threads: but it's this one I open up because it is on to Denver!

Lets put things in perspective, shall we?
Lets remind ourselves that Pats were losing the biggest playmakers by the game after week 10 and the OL was like Austrian army at the end of WWI.

And even at that - it took a Hightower injury, a stupid fumble, a CJ not being able to set the edge and stop Anderson&Hillman outside .. plus the OT to lose that regular season game at Mile High. (Freeny was the top D player and it was not even close - 12 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack, 1 QB hit; btw this might have something to do with “surprising“ extension)

Of course anything can happen in a game (like Bolden being our #2 receiver just 4 yds short of Gronk last year)

I am calling it Mile 54 this year .. and Im enjoying it already ..

Should be tough. Another desperate good team but this time in one of the worst stadiums to play in.

If they play like they did last night minus the STs errors they will beat anyone in the league right now though no matter who it is or where they play or how much of their ability their opponent plays up to.

I expect this to be a harder game though as this D can really pass rush well and there is no solution for Von Miller really. Just need to limit the damage he does.

Just a side note. There will be another MH match between the two in 2017. Its a destiny for this group .. time to turn it around.

Law of averages about to kick in. We're overdue for a win at that pot-high place.
