Steelers, obviously; Bengals, probably; since the AFC North title is at stake. Those teams still with a chance at a WC slot as well - Dolphins, Broncos. Who else?

Miami will be rooting for Baltimore as a Patriot loss combined with a loss to Denver next week would give them a shot at winning the AFCE.

Pittsburgh is rooting for NE

KC and Oakland are rooting for Baltimore

I doubt anyone else cares:

Are Miami's playoff odds better as AFCE champs or as a WC team? I figured their WC chances would be better so they's want BAL knocked off.

It's hard to say without knowing every in and out of the tiebreakers but a straight up shot at the division would seem to the straightest path. Other than that we are looking at a myriad of tiebreaker scenarios that get too complicated to figure out.

No, everyone else will be passionately rooting against the Patriots.

Wouldn't have it any other way.

That's really hard to say without knowing every tiebreaker scenario.

Steelers, Broncos, Dolphins

Bengals
Steelers
Broncos
Dolphins (maybe)
Titans
Texans
Colts

Who will be cheering for the Patriots tonight?

you mean anyone other than the Pats fans?

Probably no one.

I just meant that every fanbase without a direct rooting interest related to their own team will be rooting against the Pats, as always.

I agree that they are generally the team everyone hates because envy generates hate but in terms of self interest the variables are so complex it's really hard to decipher. Remaining opponents, conference records, common opponents, strength of schedule etc etc all come into play and one outcome among half a dozen teams can change everything. An example of this would be Demver's loss to Tennessee yesterday, which changes the dynamics in the AFCW, AFCS, and wildcard race, as well as many of the tiebreakers, and tonight's game will have a similar domino effect upon all the remaining contenders for playoff spots.

Once again , fans that make the necessary calculations to know that a Patriot win helps them will be rooting for the Patriots regardless of their personal animosity towards them. Idiot fans who don't do the calculations will be rooting against the best interests of their team, e.g. Steeler fans who would root for Baltimore, although that's so obvious they would have to be true morons to do so.

It was meant as a sarcastic point.

AFC Playoff Picture

Dolphins have substantially better odds of making the playoffs as 6th seed than any other scenario. Not sure that makes a difference with Tannehill out for the season.

Miami 100% wants the Pats to win. They are very very unlikely to win the AFCE and pretty much would need to go 4-0 with us going 1-3 or 0-4 including a loss to them with it all on the line. Not gonna happen. The WC route looks fairly promising though.

The Pats knock down Baltimore and hopefully Denver next week and then beat the Jets and with that they hopefully lock everything up so they only play half of the Dolphins game with starters giving them a good chance to win that one.

So ideally they want us to win our next 3 games so we can hopefully sit out the last one giving them a likely win while taking 2 of their closest competition down a peg. Also given the option with it all locked up the Pats would rather Miami makes it over the Ravens/Steelers/Broncos whoever.
