I had long term arguments with the Bledsoe supporters, some of whom didn't give up until they won in 2003, at which point they pretty much disappeared and only Borges was left to b.tch and whine about the decision.

As far as the presser goes I honestly don't remember.

I remember the Brady/Bledsoe wars well and also dealt with a few of them until 2003. The 2002 season brought out some questions but once Brady led the Pats to back to back SB wins and the greatest winning streak in the history of the NYFL, the critics were silenced for good.

As for the @supafly question about the presser, I think it was done to stop the distraction for the players that the constant questions would cause and to keep the locker room on board with his choice.

In my opinion, Romo is a top 5 (active) QB in this league today. Dak is the future and will take them to the playoffs this year but Romo would make them a Super Bowl contender. If Jerrah was smart, he'd get Romo in by week 15/16 so he can get acclimated.

Based on what? 2014? He hasn't played in a year and a 1/2 or so

DAL is 11-2 and lost a div game on the road which is something Romo has done dozens of times.

Dax is a young QB and the future of that franchise. They need to help him play himself out of this.

I highly doubt that they go back to Romo, that being said, the shots of Romo in the sidelines as Dax was clearly "struggling" (said in my best drunk Joe Namath voice), might eventually make the kid uneasy about his job security. Plus add to the fact that Jerrah has diarrhea of the mouth sometimes and another bad offensive game, might start the process.

Romo has had an excellent career, but he's on the downside and Cowboys are lucky to have a successor playing right now.
Agreed but will the meddling owner see it that way? You've got to wonder if Dak himself is feeling the pressure of Romo and Jerrah staring daggers into his back during bad performances. At least when Brady was put in & we were told he was staying, there was no question who was making the call and that BB would not be swayed or overruled by somebody else.

One of the reasons to not put Romo in is you don't want him hurt again before trading him.

One week they are talking about you in consideration for Rookie of the Year or MVP and the next they want you benched...Glory, it sure is fleeting in the NFL or at least in Dallas.....

There is a significant difference between what Jerrah will do and what a good football person would do. Belichick would stay the course and would stick with Prescott unless he collapsed and gave him no choice but to make a move. Jerrah on the other hand is smelling a shot at a ring and imo the hook will be much quicker with him making the decision. If Prescott struggles against Tampa Bay and the Cowboys lose another game I think Jerrah will tell Garrett he has to put Romo back in, and then I think we see the Cowboys locker room split into pieces.

Should be interesting.

Cowboys are 2/22 on 3rd down last 2 games, i let Dak play against the Bucs but if they lose and the offense is terrible again on 3rd down you'd really have to start considering it.

And yet somehow this logic didn't apply to Garoppolo after his injury.

Giants have swept the 11-2 Cowboys, and are now 9-4. Their 3 remaining games are vs. DET, @PHI, @WASH

The Cowboys have vs. TAMP, DET, @PHI. If the Giants win out, and Dallas loses 2 of their next 3, the Giants win the tie-breaker.

If you're Jerry Jones, do you put Tony Romo back in, given the high stakes left?
You are going to bench a guy for his first loss after 11 straight wins?

Wow this thread makes me feel so grateful that we literally never have these conversations about Robert Kraft. Can you imagine rooting for a team with an owner like Jones? Dear lord we are so lucky in so many ways.

Meh. Kraft isn't so great either. While he learned his lesson about interfering in the Parcells/Bobby Grier era, he's been way too supportive of Fraudger Goodell and the unity of "the 32" at the expense of his star player and his team's fans.

No. You roll with the kid that got you to the dance.

Chemistry that's working is not something you lightly decide to mess with. As of right now the team Dallas is fielding is winning. It didn't happen last night but last time I checked no one wins all the time.

With 3 games to go if you see the team struggling over that span like they did last night then I'd start considering giving more reps to Romo in practice. Until then it's, IMHO, unwise to have a short hook for a first time starter who has helm-ed such a conspicuous winning run.

All of this means JJ probably orders him to be given the hook by half time of the next game....

Kowboys are locked for homefield, I think they're just trying to get by

The big story here is the Giants handed the Cowboys their only 2 losses. At 9-4 the Giants have a good chance at a post-season run...

Agreed. All I could think last night was, "those damn Giants..."
