Do we think Gronk is done?

I'll "think he's done" when he IS done...the rest is pointless mental masturbation. Gronk is on the roster for next season and the expectation is he will play. At what level and for how long is unknowable.

It's a valid assessment considering the amount of punishment he has endured throughout his NFL career, I don't think he is ready to call it a career yet, however if he keeps getting injured like this I don't see his career lasting more than another couple years at max.
Don't take it so literally.

Made of glass=he's always hurt
Well, if that's our working definition, then I'd say you're "made of glass"... perpetually butt hurt.

Disc operations are no big deal usually. He shouldnt have been ir'd. Just tell him not to do face plants diving for overthrown balls in double coverage against 3-8 teams or whatever the Jets were.

I'm starting to think we should have a Hall of Stupidity for posts and threads like this.

1) Gronk's disc injury is serious, that's why they operated when they did.

2) IR was the right thing to do, rushing him back to placate idiot fans would be irresponsible as well as foolish.

3) Gill is right, his long term prognosis is related to the areas of the spine that were injured, the closer together the worse for his long term health.

4) We have no idea where the injuries occurred so we have no idea how much he is risking by returning but at this point it appears as that he plans on coming back. This is based solely upon his demeanor as he most likely would not have been smiling and joking about dancing if they had just told him his career was over after the operation.

5) Gronk is most likely going to have to change his training regimen to gain more pliability and flexibility going forward because more injuries like this will end his career prematurely.

6) Anyone who doesn't understand the seriousness of spine injuries has definitely never had one, they are the most debilitating injuries you can suffer and always have to be treated with the greatest care and serious rehab.

Irresponsible of this doctor to talk about someone who isn't his patient.

I listened to the entire interview and he was very careful not to break his oath and comment on Gronks particular injury, he did speak at length on the nature and prognosis of these injuries.

I do think Gronk is made of glass and the such, but done this season? I will believe it when I see it.

1) You are an idiot, but don't take it personally as that goes for every moron who calls Gronk " made of glass."

2) He is done for the season

There should be a ban on chicken littles. Easy fix.
why would anyone be "chicken" anythings? No one here does jack ****.. you are all key board warriors, typing and clicking away.. if if anyone "fears" anything about any sport, they are being silly.. then referring to any one on here as "chicken little" is an embarassment to you, for using such a stupid, dumb. put down. Come up with something not stupid, and get a little tougher if you can. That's all, come on now, represent yourself stronger than that.

Isn't "dorky" more dorky than "chicken littles?"
could be, possibly. Yet "Dorky" is a more accurate term for someone who uses the term "Chick Little" referring to someone who is bummed that Gronk could have serious issues. I not even sure how "Chicken" or being afraid would even apply in that context, or really should in any context in being a sports fan. Are you afraid the other teams line backer is going to jump through the screen and hurt you, or might not pay your winter heat bill for you?

Plus the term "chicken little" is so ****ing stupid.

Lessor situations than THREE spine surgeries have ended NFL careers.

It literally says in the very next paragraph that most of what Gill said is not applicable because Gronk has not had three surgeries on the same disc.
if the discs are close together it is worse than if they are further, from what I have read.

No sh.t, and those who are told their career is over don't send out videos talking about going dancing that night. Gronks injury is serious but there is absolutely no indication he won't return. I listened to Gill's full interview when he gave it and at no point did he say Gronk wouldn't play again.

I never said he wouldn't return.

I never said he wouldn't return.

And I was very clear that any spine surgery is serious. I had a spine fusion and know very well how debilitating they can be.

he will be back........the question is how long will he last

"We" meaning "I" don't think he is.

"We" meaning "all of us" should wait and see and not listen to a doctor not treating Gronk.
