Except why the hell were they sending a 265 pound TE who was recovering from a puntured lung and couldn't even get on a plane 8 days earlier twice on long bomb patterns? It was nonsensical. BTW, one of those two plays was the same type of fly pattern he reinjured his elbow a few years ago. "Hey, let's send him out on fly patterns and watch the guy crash". It's a bit foolish twice now when he is just coming off injury. It's not like he is a WR. The dude falls like a ton of bricks. Play with fire and you get burned.
So he was just afraid of flying 8 days earlier?
For those who are killing the pats for playing vs the jets.
Well brady's gonna have to spread the ball around. It wouldn't be as terrible if w knew our defense could get stops.
Exactly. Thank you.Ih they had mistreated him he would have the same injury over and over again. That's not the case.
Tell me what tight end aside from Bennett is currently on the roster who is just as good as Derby or better.
Didn't think so.

He was fit enough to play. Got hurt on a football play . Happens. Sometimes the explanations are as simple as much as they have tragic effects.Ok..I stand corrected...but I guess they didn't rush him back, huh?
Are you saying Derby as a blocker is useless?Derby is a TE in name only. In reality he is a big body WR and we have enough WRs on our roster. The real loss as others have pointed out will be in the run game because we will be easier to matchup against, which is why keeping Lewis healthy is now paramount.
