Video: Saban Talks Alabama Pro Day, Belichick in Attendance
Late Sunday evening, I came across a video that really caught my eye and I wanted to share it with Patriots Nation. With New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick in attendance and the Nick Saban and Belichick pipeline extremely prevalent, I thought the video of Saban was a good watch for Pats fans.
Saban and Belichick's relationship is very strong and gives the Patriots some inside knowledge of some Alabama prospects. In 2009, Alabama defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick was a seventh-round pick of the Pats and he has turned into a key player for the team as last season progressed.
This year, safety Mark Barron, cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick and linebackers Courtney Upshaw and Dont'a Hightower are all possibilities for New England in the first round if they are available.
With the amount of talent Alabama has in the upcoming draft and New England's need of defensive help, could the Pats target a 'Bama prospect? In my recent mock draft I do have the team selecting one at 27. Check out the video below. -
