Overall happy to hear it but I am not a fan we are giving him 5 years based off 11 overall well played games. It is a risk and i would have liked a prove it deal next year just to see if he could do it back to back years.
Overall though that is one key spot down.
Prove it deals are usually given to guys coming off bad years, not guys coming off good years.
Plus, the way the NFL works this will effectively be a 2-3 year deal with 2-3 years tacked on that will never be seen, which will help spread the signing bonus cap hit and mitigate future risk. Remember that Revis' deal is a 5 year deal, and there's another thread on this board on how he'll likely be dumped this year after year 2.
