I tuned out tonight for the first time since TNF began. This past Sunday the TV was only on for the Pats game, and not on all day regardless of Pats kick-off. Between spygate, deflategate, and now this unnecessary injection of liberal identity politics...when TB12 is done, so am I.
The ratings won't be coming back for awhile. The NFL screwed the pooch big time with it's putting up with players disrespecting the country, live and in your face on TV. The NFL lost a ton off ans over this, and until they are convinced that it won't happen again, they are gone, and I mean GONE. I am still angered by itas well.
There is no way he will ever do that. he will pre assign the task of handing the trophy to someone, knowing him it would probably be Peyton when they make him the league " ambassador" which they will....Yeah , he is so thankful that he literally will pee himself when he is forced to hand out the
Belichick Trophy to NE PATS

He will totally avoid the possibility of someone saying " f you. " on national tv.
I believe that if Roger avoids handing the trophy, it would be an even bigger story that would dominate the media for a while. I think it's worse for him if he doesn't hand it out. Of course we have to win it first.
When Brady returns, so will the ratings.
There's nothing the League can do about it. There's no precedent to fine or suspend players for that kind of behavior. Now, Goodell could do something under Article 46 but after what we've been through with Deflategate I don't think any of us want him using that to bludgeon players for something he couldn't do otherwise.

I'm also done when Brady is done. It's become so bad that I almost wish it would happen sooner rather than later, but I don't want to wish Brady away from Pats fans. After he's gone I will still post here, but only about the Pats teams up to Brady's absence. Feel free to LuRk when the time comes.
Same here, Sundays in fall were like holidays, couldn't wait til the pregame shows started and planned my whole Sunday around football, hell my whole plan was football, now it's like any other day off and I'll stop what I'm doing only at game time for the Pats. Don't even watch 5th quarter anymore. Sad that I feel like this but thank Roger. No one who was a fan of the NFL believes anything that comes out of 354 Park Ave these days, and that isn't just in NE. That is almost universally the theme around the country, even from fans they hate the Pats. I too have gone from someone who couldn't wait for the first pregame show to go on the air, to someone who ONLY watches when the Pats are on, and couldn't care less what is happening in the rest of the league.
At the end of the day, I can go to the internet and check the scores at any of a hundred sites, and that's it. That's all they get from me, and all they ever will.....
