When Brady and Ninkovich Return on Monday, Who Goes?

I'm still scratching my head as to why Harbor is even on the team, even though I really wanted him to make the team when I initially heard of the signing. It had to be one of those "break the glass in case of emergency" roster decisions with him.
He is active and Derby inactive the last 2 weeks

Easily? Lions GM Bob Quinn was with the Pats when they picked Richards, and his team could use some safety depth now that (starter) Tavon Wilson has a neck injury.
That cant be right because I was told for years the Wilson didn't belong in the NFL. He cant be a starter.

IR Brissett cut Foster or one of the backup Olinemen
I was thinking the same for brisket but also cutting Derby, if he isn't playing now how much is he gonna play when gronk is close to 100%?

He wasn't bad in Detroit but he also is in a terrible Lions defense.

Good point. Hadn't really thought about that angle with Derby.

He backs up TEs, hes an H-back and he backs up Develin.

I was in favor of cutting Harbor, but if he is indeed the only backup to FB Develin, this will make it much less likely. BB crafts the roster so he has a competent backup at every position. One reason next-man-up works as good as it does, is well because.. there is a next man ready to step up. However, it is just the FB position afterall, so who knows... maybe he'll throw the dice and go thin there. But that didn't work so well last year. Yet another reason the running game was putrid then, and looks so much stronger now. And, if you heard BB mike'd up vs HOU, he specifically told Blount to follow the FB block, so BB obviously values the role to the running game enough to plan for a backup. So... I guess I'll say, Harbor will NOT be cut Alex... final answer.

Some nice Reiss' thoughts here:

Patriots should get extra time to make roster move on Tom Brady return

Most importantly - the Pats should have until Thursday 4pm to decide who to cut - while they can bring Tom and Ninko back already on Monday - so they can have a 55 roster for 4 days before decisions.

They also have a 2 week window to activate the suspended guys. While it would be a surprise if TB is not activated immediately .. they could wait a bit with Ninko (remember he was not only suspended but also injured).

Which means more time and more options - and a crazy roster week ahead of us (and the poor guys at the bottom of the roster and PS).
_

Also in the article - a reminder Lewis' time to return is nearing - and this time looks like no setbacks!
Actually for me this is the most exciting roster move coming up .. simply because I am curious in what capacity Lewis can return. Blount's strong start could significantly ease Lewis' return. It would be great if he would be ready already for week 7 .. just in time for the 2 big away games - @Pitt & @Bills .. but they might not rush him with bye week coming after.

If Lewis returns to at least something close to his last year's self and they can both stay healthy - this offence is going to be stratospheric.

With lil' Gronk signed as FB to the PS that makes Harbor's position a little less secure.

Ryan Allen. We will no longer have any need to punt.

I think the addition of Glenn Gronk may be an indicator that Harbor is a cut candidate. If they feel that Lil Gronk can give them similar blocking to Harbor then it may make sense to cut him to free up a spot. Also, I doubt we see Nink actually activated for a couple of more weeks. Remember he is still healing from torn triceps. That takes a while. I bet they will maximize his 2
Week roster exemption. I don't think they will cut Foster until Lewis gets back.

Just to add to the impossible puzzle here ..
