What I LIKE the Most about BB - He is the smartest most strategic game planner since Bill Walsh,no coach in the league can get a team ready for a game against an opponent better than Bill :snob:

What I HATE the Most about BB- Those g-d damn 'day to day' injury report BS he tells the media and fans when a player is apparently injured and we don't know if he is going to start the next week or if he has had a leg amputated - He gives us and the media NOTHING about the player's situation,I hate that about him although I know its for a reason against opposing teams in the regular season so they have trouble game planning against us with a particular important player but in the preseason it makes no sense as to hold info back that he probably already has the answer to.

Your likes and dislikes about BB?

I like him as an absolutely spectacular coach. I hate the fact that he has all the personality of a piece of wet cardboard.

Hate that someday he'll retire.

Love everything else.

Hate that we dont know how long he is going to coach the Pats, everything else what is not to love..

Agree, there is not much I dislike about this man.. he has done something that few have done or will do in this salary cap era.. someday he will be remembered in the same breath as Paul Brown or Vince Lombardi.. he is what he is one of the greatest NFL minds/coaches of all time.

Put me in the "not much to dislike" category. There is the huge upside we all know about, and the type of thing that some media pundits hang on, such as lambasting him for his terse, short replies after losing the AFCCG last season. The guy is a winner, he puts his heart and soul into winning, and is unhappy (OK, that's putting it mildly) when his team loses. I respect that, wouldn't want it any other way. I also see BB talking to media types like Mike Lynch.

On Patriots All-Access where he is very amiable, especially when he starts talking X's and O's. I see a brilliant individual who has a passion for what he does. In addition to that, he has a lot of respect for the institution of football, its history, etc. Who cares that he wears an old hoody on the sidelines and doesn't release injury information? He is clearly on a different level than the vast majority of coaches in the NFL, we are very fortunate to have him coaching the Pats. (That's my rant for the day!)

Point B kinda backs up Point A though don't you think. Too much info means the other team can gameplan. Smart guy. I like BB, great coach, a little too hard line sometimes but I guess maybe that is a good thing.

Having a thread like this is a sure sign that off season has dragged on too long.

Even with TC started, I guess the long wait has really mess with the minds of some.

I like the way he dresses....I hate the way he sulks like a baby after a loss.

Thats not an answer,Either leave one and try using your brain,Or if you don't have the capabilities to do so especially in this thread, then pass on it for a post thats easier for you to try and come up with something intelligent to say

Apparently that might be tough for you to say anything other than a smartass answer but you can try, - its free to think and express something that is actually of some importance you know.

Like your 'Underappreciated player' poll you made the other day..one long word to describe it.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I've never had much respect for coaches whose attitude is, "Oh, well, we lost. Better luck next time." I like BB, Parcels, Ditka, Mora, the guys who get/got really upset after a loss. I hate to think the coach of my favorite team is not bothered by EVERY loss, to the point of being unpleasant to be around.

His short-answered, highly uncomfortable pressers after a loss tells me there is a reason he holds the record for most consecutive games without back-to-back losses.

Back to the original posters comment, I am not one who feels a team has an obligation to broadcast publicly everything they know.

And the thing I "hated" (too strong a word) about Belichick was like everyone else in New England, I strongly disapproved of him when he passed over David Terrell and selected Richard Seymour instead. He gave up a sure lock of a play-maker in Terrell and instead brought in a guy too tall for a DT and to heavy for a DE, and whose work ethic was questioned.

Since then, I have been less inclined to think I know more than he does.

I loved that last part.
Say something important on an unimportant thread.

I think my response was more than worthly of the question posed.

That was no answer, just a stupid comment with nothing of intelligence,If you want to be a jerk thats fine just answer it with a little sarcasm in the mix

Try making another one of those unappreciated player polls or similar

I am sure it will get post of the week

LOVE - the guy isn't afraid to make tough decisions.

HATE - not good at mid-game adjustments. Typically if the Pats fall behind by 2 possessions, the game is as good as over. We have a 3-13 mark (w/ Brady) over the last 4 years (2 wins at home against Buffalo and the SD miracle). If his schemes are clicking early on then the Pats are in good shape to win, but if not then it's probably going to be a long day.

EDIT: Indy has a 7-9 mark over the last 4 years when down 2+ scores. As much as I hate them, they are better comeback team - as we all painfully know

I love that he gives two craps about how he looks. More time to break down film.

I love how he doesn't celebrate after a nice play or a win. Why celebrate when you could be thinking about the next play or game.

If there was one thing I wish he did....it would be fill us fans and media members as to why he likes old LB'S. I understand their more seasoned...but there has to be more to it than that.

I don't think this is AT ALL motivated by where he "really knows" and doesn't tell us, he's just not going to disclose anything that is not definitive. Guessing and speculation is just not what he does about anything, whether it's player performance or injuries. So crap like "the test was good and we're hopeful" or "doesn't look good now, but we have a few more tests to run" is just not something he ever deals in. You're either day to day, or you're on IR or PUP, and there is no in-between because anything that is between cannot be counted on.

He has said this exactly just a few days ago, telling people NOT to read into "day to day":

Q: How is Chad Scott?
BB: Chad Scott is day-to-day.

Q: When you say day-to-day, can we take that as he's not been diagnosed with a serious injury?
BB: No. He's being evaluated on a daily basis.

Q: Day-to-day sounds like he could be back tomorrow. I don't want to misread anything into that.
BB: Some players are day-to-day and they come back the next day. Some of them don't. When we have something definitive we'll tell you. If we don't, then they're day-to-day.

It's pretty simple and clear. There is no ulterior motive. Just doesn't want to deal it mushy gray area crap that does nothing productive and if anything only fuels speculation by mediots and doctor commentators who don't really know either.

Agreed. He's got a little "sore sport" in him. I was not impressed with the way he handled the "Mangini-to-the-Jets" situation. I'm sure there is more to the story that we will never know about, but he came accoss as a hyprocrite IMO. If you recall, in 2000 he bolted from the NYJ and left Parcells, his longtime boss in the lerch (not that I'm complaining). Under not as adversarial circumstances, Mangini goes to the Jets for a great career opportunity and BB is all sour over it. Again, there might have been some behind the scenes things that justify BB's obvious animosity towards EM but for the leader that he is and the professional succes he has, he needs to be above that.

Other than that, the man is a football god and I would not want anyone else running this team. No one.

Love his cerebral analysis and work ethic. The way he treats the media. The homes on Nantucket and hot blonds.

Hate his name. Too hard to spell.

With apologies to Red Barber, Belichick's personality is only dull to dull minds, evidently.
