Pot Roast dishes on the Pats/BB

Former Patriots DT Terrance Knighton opens up on time in New England

Good stuff here. Truly hoped he could have made the team, but he's straight up honest about why he didn't while pumping the tires on someone else (Valentine maybe). Anyways, it's a good read, and I haven't listened to the podcast yet.
The outtakes they quote are excellent, particularly on Belichick. Knighton lost his job, but still has the grace to speak in the highest terms about the organization and the guy in charge. Good man.

Knighton is a guy that's been around and was cut by the Pats before the season and he's saying these things. It's amazingly how many veteran players rave about how differently the Pats do things and how great it is. Unfortunately, the national media ignores this and focuses on made up cheating accusations. Even worse the rest of the league doesn't learn from it either, sort of. On one hand I'm glad they are in denial while the Pats keep winning, on the other hand, you would like to see proper credit given.

It's kind of playing poker and bluffing some guy out all night and he keeps complaining about you getting better hands. You're tempted to show your hand to show how thoroughly you are outplaying him, but on the other, you know it's better not to and keep taking his money.

Valentine's the only DT we drafted this year, so he is indeed talking about him. Nice guy, sad that it didn't work out. Shows high class in this podcast. No hard feelings, no blaming the organisation, simply recognising that he himself had trouble adapting to the Patriots' system.

That's one of the best descriptions of BB I've ever read. Classy words all around from Mr. Knighton, I wish him the best in all his future endeavors.

Kinda cool that Knighton and Jacoby ate lunch together. "Today's special...

...a brisket pot roast!"

I really wanted him to make the team, but this is the Pros, and the best man gets the job.
Being nasty will get him nowhere at this stage of his career.

Great ... Now I'm hungry.

Lil thing about Pats Camp here:

i just finished listening to it--he really is a good interview. refreshingly cliche-free. regarding being in shape, he said (not an exact quote), "i always hate it when people say they're in the best shape of their life. i was in the best shape of my life junior year of college. i'll never be like that again, but i'm ready to play again."

he also said that the one player he played against who gave him the most sleepless nights before a game was tom brady.

Knighton was buddies with Anthony Johnson, though. Really loves the guy.

Knighton is a free agent and if someone gets hurt on that interior DL, him getting a call wouldn't surprise me at all.

If we have injuries on the defensive line, I sure hope that big Pot Roast gets a call to rejoin the team. Cool guy.
