We can keep both Brady and Grop at a very reasonable price next year. It's the year after that Jimmy is FA and salary becomes an issue.

Brissett wasn't bad but I don't think he threw more than 5 yards downfield once. It speaks to the coaches trust in him and is what we should expect from a 3rd round rookie.
I doubt Jimmy wants to continue to be a backup. He will needed to be traded during next season to maximize his value. I honestly think a rookie Jacoby is every bit as good as a rookie Jimmy was.
As of now, the Pats just need TB12 back and one more Super Bowl win.

And both the Bills and Dolphins are 0-2, both with a loss in the division.
Yeah, worst case scenario is the Pats lose the next 2 and are 2-2, and even if the other 3 teams all win the next 2 weeks (very unlikely) the Pats would still be tied for 2-2 with the Bills and Dolphins and only one game behind NJ.

He has no leverage. What's he gonna do? Hold out? Lol. We can keep him if we want but ya I agree we need to trade him this offseason for the best return.

With two games left vs the Jets and with Brady behind center.

How did I forget about that game? Wow, yeah that was scary.

To be honest I have come to expect uneven, borderline bad performances in September by now. I'd be a lot more worried if this is how the defense looked in November or December.

He has some leverage.

Do you think Belichick is the kind of guy that will franchise (either exclusive or non-exclusive) a QB that has 1 1/2 games under his belt?

If Garoppolo goes into next year, it can only mean Brady is on the outs, not Garoppolo. Either way, Jimmy G. is signing a big contract.

Not the best day for the Patriots' cornerbacks. Here are my in-game coverage stats:

Brissett will be fine Thursday ..... he actually did quite well as a mid game step in....their game planning for Houston will have him in position to succeed.

Hilarious how people were soiling themselves in the game thread

I thought he was okay as well and one of the encouraging signs aside from the obvious positives today (JG / Bennett/ OL /Blount / 1st half D). Offense moved the ball pretty well with him:
-TD Drive
-Last 2 drives were good, one was killed by a hold and the last one we just ran it at the end figure Gost would ice it.

Considering at least 1 or 2 other drives were called indredibly conservative/defensive I think the offense fared okay under JB.Considering Thursday they wont be protecting a 28 point lead , there will be necessity to score, and JB will be fully prepared I think we can realistically win that one.

I don't think I posted in the game thread today, but man, this team will give me a heart attack one day. If you don't hear from me for awhile, you'll know they finally did.

Defense should take a long shower after the game and forget that they were had in the second half by the LOLphins. Defense looked like some dolphin friendly tuna. Onto Texans and need to play better against Brocko.

3 weeks in a row we don't know what the hell we are going to see.......booyah!

Fine is a tough clarifier.

Better prepared? Absolutely. Just getting 95% of the snaps with the offense during practice is huge, but it's a SHORT week. No time to install much of anything new - just polish existing. Add that to really one day of real full practice...I'm not sure I can agree on fine at this time.

Brisket's biggest issue is timing (he missed a wide open Edelman I think three times) and he looked pretty slow on his progressions today. Can those two issues improve in a day and a half of practice? Hope so!!

Well....those 3 misses were the only ones he had.......fact is, he stepped in and was pretty effective.....they'll shorten the playbook with plays he can make

Outside of the 2nd half of the Cards game, Butler has really struggled thus far.

I defended the CBs after AZ. My defense has come down a bit after today, but only in so far as I'm not sure they're being as aggressive at the line as in previous years. For example, one of Ryan's best attributes is timing disruption (look at his games against D. Thomas last year). I haven't seen that from him so far. Maybe it's not in the game plan yet?

I defer to PFK's analysis that the team went to a softer approach in the second half and add to it that psychologically they could never get the edge back as the game wound on.
