Cassel's salary for 2016 is $1.25M. If you trade him only to release him after two weeks, he'd be eligible for termination pay (i.e., to collect the entire amount).

It would be the pro-rated amount since Tenn already paid him the 1st two weeks.

I'm ok with brisket starting with a (short) week of practice getting full reps (over somebody off the street). If JAG goes to IR (if injury time is 10 weeks and min ir time =6) that frees up a spot to bring in a journeyman as insurance behind Brisket and keep edeldude as backup to the insurance.

I think we will sign a qb this week as a 5th qb. I think if brissett goes down edelperson is next man up at least for thurs.

Crazy to think that a team that has not had a qb not named Brady start since 2008 is now on our 3rd string qb and and likely bringing on another qb.

Waddle would be my guess, although Johnson could be an (unpopular) option if they're comfortable with edge guys filling that interior role instead. Normally I'd include Roberts but he's probably not a cut candidate until Hightower is back.

no edelman (are at least VERY limited edelman due to backup obligations)

I dont see a Vet QB comeing in, but Mike Bercovici could be a option. Sign him to PS and promote him later in the week. Familiar with Luchen and Foster from college, so they should be a help learning the offense. Regardless whoever Patriots gets in here, if forced into play, they will hand it off left and right anyway..

Not really an option, unfortunately. If Jimmy is too hurt to play Thursday, the Pats are more or less obligated to bring in a QB; you never want to be one hit away from literally not having an offense. They came close enough today, and that was with a backup
