Saints released RB C.J. Spiller

Yates

Would we be interested?

I would be, without knowing his health or why he's fallen out of favor. They said he was quicker than last year in TC.

We supposedly thought he was coming here last year before he went to New Orleans. So maybe - Bill often just moves on, though, so previous interests don't always manifest as current interests.

Wow, he'd be a perfect fit here. Once Gronk gets back and they go to a primary 2-TE offense they'll need a starting RB that can run+catch well. Right now Lewis is the only RB on the roster that can do that and he's obviously hurt. He'd also give us a really good KR which we don't have now.

Assuming he's healthy they should be all over this.

If we do try to sign him who gets the boot?

Who's gonna get cut?

I'd like to see what Foster can do before bringing in someone like Spiller.

What happened to this guy? Is it simply injuries?

How far away is Lewis?
How likely is it that Foster will earn real time in the next couple of weeks?
How shot is Spiller?
Has White actually turned a corner with his running?

I assume BB believes that he has those answers, and will act accordingly.

If Spiller has anything left, he is a no-brainer over Foster. As has been said, Spiller is also a kick returner, which may be becoming more important.

Something's up - with spiller being cut the saints have now increased their dead money cap hit to $40 million.
