Now this is starting to make sense. From that article: "ESPN’s Adam Schefter said that the Patriots and Eagles were close to working out this deal last week but weren’t able to consummate it until now. So the likeliest scenario is that both Kline and Rowe were kept on the roster merely to keep the trade alive until the conditional future pick could be decided."

n my opinion, cutting both Darryl Roberts or Cre'Von Leblanc seemed a little puzzling to me. Surely given how valuable corner is, given Logan Ryan could leave, there was some way to keep one given their promise. But with Rowe coming, it makes more sense to me.
The problem is, Belichick makes it difficult because he makes a move knowing the options available to him or conversations in the pipeline. We're not privy to these developments until after the fact and react accordingly to the singular. He's a jerk like that.

we needed someone tall enough to at least pretend to be covering Larry Fitzgerald.....Release the Kraken!

All I know is , Rowe was a binky of mine during the draft. I'm excited. Is it Sunday yet?

The Pats have morphed nicely from a team that took a chance on guys from the street to play CB to probably having one of the best D backfields in the NFL with the addition of Rowe..

This combined with the front 7 and ability to mix and match, will give O coordinators fits.. this D will often defy description by the announcers..

THis D has depth..and i love it

The trade is officially official. Officially.

As mentioned before it seems like the Patriots wanted CB Eric Rowe over that stiff Jordan Richards who's the Aaron Dobson of Safeties. I hope when Brady comes back he takes Jordan Richards spot especially deadwood.

Not only did the Pats, reportedly, want Rowe, but the Eagles actually traded up to get Rowe.

4th round pick or is it still conditional?

It's just the 4th rounder. The trade conditions have changed so much I'm wondering when Sam Bradford will become involved.

I think there is a DB on the current roster who might want to make a reservation for a U-Haul.

I suspect you are right, but I hope not, because it would probably be JJ, who I like as a developmental CB. Just as Rowe matches up with tall receivers, maybe JJ (who posted the fastest 40 yd dash at the combine) could help out on super fast receivers. Whether he can stick probably depends on just how much he can contribute to special teams.

Thanx. I like the trade much better when it doesn't have a chance of becoming a 3rd rounder.

Don't want to hijack the thread or take it off topic, but I HATED the Richards pick, absolutely hated it. Just like I hated the Easley pick and the Tavon Wilson pick. People tried to justify the Richards pick by saying we picked a 7th round talent in the 2nd round, and picked a 2nd round talent in the 7th round in Daryl Roberts. But it is what it is, a horrible pick. Hopefully Richards proves me wrong.

WR: Tyler Lockett or RB Duke Johnson would have been great picks oh well.

LOL, at this point, it's a total media troll effort. I love it.

The Patriots are saying it's a "conditional draft selection." I'm done. No more. Don't care. Can't take it. Leave me alone.
