Saying goodbye, for now. I'll be missing the rest of pre-season. Today is my last day on the board until after Labor Day. Flying out tomorrow for two weeks camping in the desert, totally off the grid, helping friends build their projects at Burning Man. Back just in time for the opener. It's always interesting to come back and see what happened in the last couple of weeks before the season opener. Keep the faith guys, injuries happen but we've got the best coaches and front office in the league, team will be ready and well positioned for the start of the season. I'm still expecting 3-1 and won't be surprised if it's 4-0, really hoping for the as the ultimate FU to Roger! Have fun, play nice...

Burning Man is on my bucket list.

I'd been dreaming of seeing a large wicker man sculpted to look like Goodell be the center attraction and the burn there. Ah well. Sigh.

Have fun and remember to hydrate.

but i do agree - Pats will be ready when you return ...

I'll be going dark too...have to weed the garden bed. While I'm gone....remember...

...and pray for the Pats O Line...

why "wicker sculpted to look like Goodell" when even better you could have the real thing?

I wouldn't be averse to that. Or build the giant wicker man, and put Goodell and his sycophant front office staff inside and light it off.

Sounds like you've got early arrival pass - nice work! Have a freakin' blast out there on the playa. Btw: there should be plenty of wifi out there in case you get Pats fomo.

thanks! Yep, EA rocks, best part of the event. Going in tomorrow, expect good wifi until the gates open and the hordes of tourists arrive. But I'll be busy setting up camp and building art. Last year had okay wifi until Sunday night than nothing, it was swamped. Expect more of the same.

Flying to RNO today found the in-flight TV replaying Pats-Bears, only got to see second half (about when Brissette replaced JG). Liked what I saw from Derby, a lot. Thought Gaffney looked good once or twice, hoping he's on an upward arc. Really hoping we don't need Fleming at OT...

At first I thought you were going on a date with that whack-job @Off The Grid

then I realized you're doing something much more sane......like getting every orifice filled with dust

enjoy...........pack everything into airtight containers and all the mind altering substances you can carry

and oh yeah, don't forget some food....also in airtight containers....unless you like grit

You actually went there yourself? Or did you watch it on TV?

I went.....helped a friend set up his 100ft wooden fish and after 3 days went to Circus-Circus in Reno because I could not stand the grit it was ok while I was ****ed up on acid, shrooms, etc, but I woke up one morning and was no longer in my stupor and said to myself 'god, I need to get out of here'

for most people, after 2-3 days, it would be 'that was fun.......let's never do that again'

So basically it's like Coachella but with more hippies? Because that's the way I felt after two days at Coachella. Well... that and douchey after being around those types of people for a couple of days.

don't know much about Coachella, but Burningman (at least 10 years ago) is likely different from anything......selling for cash was frowned upon and bartering was the way to go.....or simple sharing....most of my time there I was far too altered to ponder the meaning of any of it...the people were fine......the wind and dust was what got to me the most.....it just got old pretty quick

And more pyromania...
I think, never been to Coachella. I go to set **** on fire. Or build huge arrays of propane burners. Great chance to play with fire.

If you were 15 years younger, you could have gotten in on the rise of EDM culture. Those festivals are wild. I just retired from them this past year by spending too much money on VIP at Ultra. I would have hit up TomorrowLand again but I'm looking into potentially making a life altering mistake and getting married in the next couple of years and didn't want to spend well over $2,000 on a trip to Europe just for one last festival. I didn't have any friends that wanted to do the same either but were willing to go to Ultra.

As for BM, I've never been. I would have had to have gone already. Now I'm on the other side of 30 and am exiting my prime.

So much gold in this post, I wouldn't know where to begin.
