LeGarrette Blount re-signed with the Patriots this morning. He's back.

Glad to have him back! I wondered if Gaffney's release was related to a Blount return. Hopefully this means Blount is relatively healthy.... The RB corps is a little bit more rounded-out now, though a draft pick is still needed.

Makes a lot of sense for both sides, doubt he makes much. Coming off of an injury and hasn't proven he can behave anywhere else.

Still expect a RB draftee but we're looking better with Blount, Lewis, (Brown or White) and Bolden (more of an emergency guy). Probably should bring in another talent with more upside then Brown and White, less injury history than Lewis and quicker, fresher legs than Blount. Not as dire of a need now, though.

Early season through the end of the season til the games "really matter"... Blount as the 1st & 2nd down starting back, rotate in the rookie. Lewis as the 3rd down back with the occasional appearance on other downs. White rotates for Lewis late-game in weeks where he's not a gameday inactive, Develin for short yardage or to blow open a hole for Blount/rookie. Bolden the all-purpose "break glass in case of emergency" backup/special teamer.

Works for me.

I expected this to be coming sooner or later. Nice signing. Now draft one of Henry/Williams/Collins/Prosise/Drake/Dixon and I'll be happy with the position.

He's a power back and role player, they still need a first down back who can stretch defense's and contribute in the passing game. I expect them to address that in the draft.

Cool signing. I pretty much expected him back. Especially after that SnapChat post from last week. What the coaches need to work on with him is getting to the line faster. Once he gets past the line he is pretty quick for a big man...but he is slow as molasses getting from the backfield to the line.

Hope they still draft a RB or two also.
