I'm a Brady/Belichick fan at this point. I will be a hard core fan until they're gone then probably not bother. I have already stopped buying most NFL merchandise. Not missing draft prep at all.

Would love nothing more (won't happen) than for the NFL to fold, the owners to lose billions and a new, less corrupt, league to replace it.

Although I know it will go nowhere, I don't agree that it's frivolous, I won't use the right words but it's a group of owners (31 others) forcing a non competitive situation of their competitor. No different that one auto parts store being able to competitively hurt another auto parts store by, say, not allowing them to have a certain piece of machinery or whatever.

But legally it's the league giving a punishment for a violation it claims it is confident happened.
The league has that right so you can't sue over that. You would have to sue that the leagues opinion of what happened is wrong and I don't think fans have that right.

So, we want the monopoly of the NFL to be declared null and void (an end to the league) and we want courts to decide the fairness of rules of all sports leagues. Sounds like a plan, NOT!

It will never happen, but I would love to see the league get taken down altogether. At this point I couldn't care less about the NFL, and if its very existence ends up being collateral damage for the Brady/Patriots witch hunt, then as a lifelong football fan I'm fine with that.

What would be great is if they could get an injunction against the NFL from holding the draft! They could surely show that if the draft was allowed to proceed before their case (which will get tossed on standing, as many before me has said) is adjudicated, the harm done would be irreparable.

maybe they get a die hard pats fan judge who lets the case go forward and issue the injunction, it would at the very least, cause the NFL to answer for itself and maybe think upon their sins.

Who was treated unfairly? The Patriots players because they have less chance to win? I don't think anything in there employment agreement gives them a right to equal chance to win. Arguably the players on the Patriots actually have increased job security.
I mean its wrong on many levels but I don't think labor laws are being broken.
And remember, the league and players collectively bargained that something like this is supposed to be handled the way it was by who it was. Goodell is a moron, is true, but not grounds for lawsuit.

You're absolutely correct that it was collectively bargained, etc, etc, and there's no case here.

However it my little world, "the other 31" are engaging in unfair labor practices against the New England Patriots. Now, I know they can't sue, etc, etc. but it would be nice if the big picture could be seen that the jealousy of 31 teams has resulted in the taking of valuable assets of a competitor.

Infliction of emotional distress. (One Plaintiff claims his seven-year-old daughter is so upset by the persecution of the Patriots that she now refuses to attend games with him.)

While the NFL’s handling of Ballghazi has been laughable, incompetent, and unfair, I am fairly sure that Patriots fans do not have standing here, and that you should read this suit and laugh at it and then come to the comments where I tell you what I found when I googled the lawyer who wrote it up.

So! The plaintiffs’ attorney, Seth T. Carey. You guys can help with this, but so far I found that he was suspended from practicing law for six month for what the Maine Supreme Judicial Court described as “a lack of fundamental skills, competencies, and preparation in trial work in general, and criminal defense in particular.”

He was later suspended another 60 days for hitting a puppy.

I was going to post something similar. This lawsuit isn't going to work, but it becomes a punchline when the attorney behind it has been disciplined recently for "competency concerns."

Those Jets fans who filed the failed spygate lawsuit were known for their frivolous lawsuits, but at least they weren't regarded as incompetent. The silver lining in that case was the NFL stated in court that Belichick's argument was correct; the camera memo was open to interpretation. There's no chance of anything like happening in this situation.
