Somehow the MCI and CHB missed this and left it, once again, to the NY Daily News to break the story:

“When institutions like the University of Tennessee tacitly condone violence against women by ignoring cases of sexual assault by student-athletes, it perpetuates a dangerous culture of violence that ultimately hurts women everywhere,” Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet said in a statement. “Nationwide Insurance and Papa John’s Pizza must show their customers that they will never stand for sexual violence — and suspend their relationships with Manning pending further investigation.”

Women's group wants Peyton Manning sacked as spokesman

Looks like Peyton is going to need a "Plan B" for his Retirement income...

Whenever I see Papa John in one of his commercials, I get the eerie feeling like he's not exactly against sexual assault. Nothing to back it up, I just won't be surprised in five years when they find someone tied up in his basement.

Also his pizza sucks.

My 13 year old loves their pizza but she hates PM now so thankfully we don't have to get it anymore. Before she was indifferent towards him but now the hate is at a whole new level.

I accept full credit for that;)

We don't even have any Papa Johns out here. Years ago I would've been curious to try it if given the chance. Now I certainly am not. Good job convincing your kid that Manning sucks!

I have a feeling that the majority of this board wouldn't be too interested in what "UltraViolet" had to say about anything if they weren't talking about Manning.

Yeah, UltraViolet is a little to the left of center...but so was Judge Berman...;)

...looks like Pats fans have ended up on the side of those who defend Labor rights and Women's rights...we can embrace those causes either because we believe in the underlying issues or because "the enemy of our enemy is our friend"...either way, it works for me...:)

I still don't really care about anything they have to say.

kids likes any kind of pizzas

New York is where it's at for pizza

It took an idiotic "Women's group" to make me a defender of Peyton Manning, but wanting these companies to suspend their relationship with Peyton over an incident that happened in 1996, and has been known for over a decade, is stupidity taken to a whole new level.

Thanks, Ultraviolet. I'm going to need a shower after posting this.

You couldn't be more wrong. This guy went out of his way to attack her repeatedly. It shows that it wasn't a one time event, but that the general level of disrespect is consistent. Any women's advocacy group should be appalled at what he did.

Nonsense

The woman's received 3 settlements in the case, because Manning was stupid enough to make disparaging comments about the woman in his book. It's been dealt with.

Every women's advocacy group should shut the hell up about it.

Generally, yes

Lynwood in Randolph gives you something different though........which I happen to enjoy equally

the whole bar pizza thing I enjoy but admit that it's different enough from NY style that you can't really compare

Agreed. Such faux outrage over an incident that took place many moons ago and was pretty common knowledge before the media kicked it back up. Anyone who wanted to dig into Manning's past could've easily found this info out. I'm glad he's getting hammered because the majority of Pat's fans understand how fake he is, but ffs, what happened to investigative journalism... Guy basks in glory for 20 years and now the media is trying to hit rewind while acting repulsed. Pretty pathetic on both ends.

Manning a POS and deserves all bad things said, but the media is just as guilty for never questioning the golden boy in the first place. Both have egg on their face IMO.

NY style is definitely the best... All the locals near me like the local style which is like this big thick square crust, it's like 90% dough, it's awful. Give me that big thin foldable NY pizza any day.

Eh..... On a cold, harsh winter day, there's no better comfort food for me than a nice, thick slice of Chicago deep dish pizza. Everything about it is thick - crust, sauce, cheese, toppings. Just very hearty, tasty stuff.
