I don't think he should go because of deflategate, but if TB does decide to go and get all chummy with Goodell, then it makes it easier on me because I will longer give a **** about it. End of story.

I've been wrong many times before, and haven't come close to using up my supply, but I will be shocked if Brady is 'chummy' with the guy who is in court based solely on the belief that Brady is a cheater and lied directly to his face.

I probably was not clear. As a former process server I can say serving a big company is easy. Doing it on camera needs TB12 getting access. Jastremski and McNally have good cases for those that think the NFLPA would not be interested in discovery if Tom Brady sued.

But that is irrelevant film, say from an iPhone or something of Goodell or the guy he keeps passing Brady to getting three envelopes from the guy next to Tom would be priceless.

On the other hand, there's a fine balance between that issue, representing the team, appeasing the fans and possibly even sponsors in business related matters, and solidifying his place in NFL history since it's a historic championship game in SB50. After all, he doesn't want to come off like Roger Goodell on opening night, hiding in the shadows.

I think he's damned if he does go, and damned if he doesn't go. That's all we'll hear, about how "arrogant" Brady is that he didn't even bother to show up. Bummer either way.

As people have said Montana and Bradshaw didn't go to the same event for SB 40, and no one remembers.
I think too much is being made of this.

I can't imagine an impact on sponsors, and I can't understand why Tom Brady would care about any impact on sponsors if there was one.
His place in history is already solidified with or without waving to a crowd in SF.

OK, but I don't understand that. Do you really think fans feel he is obligated to do this for them? I think more feel he is obligated to tell the NFL FU. I think the pro bowl indicated that other players could not care.
Its a ceremony announcing the MVPs. No player with a ring is going to feel better or worse if Brady is or is not standing there when they call his name.

Why would that have anything to do with class? The league is continuing to screw them. He has no obligation to help them promote themselves at his expense. If he feels its best for him to go, that is fine, but if he feels sending an FU to the NFL is best for him, I agree.
HE won the rings and the MVPs. I don't think he cares about your opinion on whether he is 'classy

Tom has not been hiding. He has attended appeals and been in court several times.

Over the last year it has been proven that the NFL has been wrongly accusing Tom.

While they have had several opportunities, the NFL has refused to acknowledge that they have made a mistake.

The NFL has continued to see to it that he is to be suspended for the first 4 games of 2016.

Forget about the NFLPA/Commissioner's power aspect of the actual case. When you boil it down the genesis of all this is that without the slightest bit of hard evidence, in essence the NFL is still accusing Tom of being a liar and a cheat.

Over the last year, we have all seen what Tom Brady is made of and his position on this issue and how he has taken stock of who his friends and non-friends are. Unlike Der Fuher, TB12 is a man of uncompromising principals.

Based on what I have said, there is no way in hell he is going. I'm not sure he is intending on making a "statement" by not going but he certainly won't go because he has pride, is not a corporate lackey and will not want to appear as "kissing and making up" with the NFL. Maybe someday but not now.

I agree. I do see both sides of this, and a part of me feels like he should be able to participate in something that, taking a broader view, is bigger than the current NFL, the moron running the league, etc. He's historically great and should get his due, in the city (close to) he grew up in, etc.

But unfortunately, you can't totally separate that from what's happened over the past year, so I think he will pass.
