What I said was I don't understand how potentially having 15m dollars with 4 quality players that need extending this season (at least 1-2 are priorities right now) AND Butler equates to this being the best situation we've been in "many years." That isn't true. Hell, didn't we carry over double digits just recently, within the past couple/few years?
I also said that if people honestly believe that we're going to lock up HT, Collins, Sheard, and Jones PLUS Butler, they are delusional. We already have DMcC making double digit AAV money, so maybe there's room for a couple more. This isn't fantasy football, and would go against the exact philosophy that has allowed the team to remain a consistent winner. By that thinking, one can claim that Jones is likely the most expendable--even if I agree with you that it's probably best to keep him for 2016.
And just because Miguel writes his annual article on how we could potentially keep guys like Revis, Welker, etc doesn't necessarily mean that he believes that will happen, or is suggesting that's the best approach to take. He's simply breaking down various scenarios.
