It would be one thing if the Steelers assumed it was a TD when it was not...but if the ref signals TD and they want to be idiots about it, then the penalty should only take effect if the TD stands.

I disagree, the penalty is for excessive celebration regardless if it's a score or not.

Wild Card Weekend is barely playoff football. Like i said in a previous post. You get 1 good game usually.. 2 if you are lucky. WC weekend makes you want to strongly consider letting less teams in the playoffs.

Are people really arguing that the celebration penalty should be annulled because the TD was called back? That's like saying that roughing the passer shouldn't count on a play that gets called back for holding. The scoring play is independent of the stupid dance that Gay chose to do. Come on, now.
