I don't know if anyone saw the stat WEEI posted regarding the Patriots success on 3rd down with Edelman and then from the time he got hurt. Here's the tweet Ryan posted:
I went ahead and pulled all the plays out of the database and here are some additional numbers:
The red zone passing percentage is deceiving because the bigger thing that stands out is the number of attempts, which is far lower with Edelman out of the line-up and that's obviously because they're not getting down in scoring territory as much. Needless to say, it's going to be nice to have him back - although it won't matter if the offensive line can't give Brady a little more breathing room.
