That wasn't a Question.
Miguel says the Patriots have less than $2m in cap space. Unlike Stephen Jackson, I don't see him signing for peanuts. Seems unlikely to me, but who knows....
Wasn't he one of the highly touted OL in recent years? Short arms maybe, IIRC? Or small school? He had a wart or three from what I remember.
All that aside, I'd like to see Jackson and mason take over, their upside and my rose colored shades make one helluva picture of the future interior line with Stork and even Andrews.
If Kline gets cut, there's no way he'll get through waivers. The MBTA has had their eye on him all season.Asamoah was a 2010 3rd Rounder and was actually the guy who took the starting Gig at Kansas City from none other than Brian Waters in 2011, thus sending the latter into our waiting arms when the Chiefs inexplicably cut'm. Waters was of course an integral part of that 2011 Super Bowl Season.
He would be a tremendous Talent to add for nothing...And if it meant less Snaps for Klein, all the better.
I am all about developing Shaq Mason at Left Guard and Tre Jackson at Right.
And Asamoah has the Power and Agility ~ and above all: The Mechanics and the Motor ~ not only to compete with those guys but to develop into a guy who can bring substantial Impact off the Bench. The Difference between bringing a guy like he could develop into off the Bench and a guy like Klein has proven, a thousand times, to be the Difference between competing for a Championship...and winning a Championship.
Jon Asamoah is a Power Guard and would not be a fit if I was the Offensive Line Coach.
But as Coach DeGuglielmo has already proven masterful at developing Linemen and as he clearly prefers Power with a pinch of Agility, Asamoah strikes me as a perfect fit for this Crew.
Its one thing to bring in a RB (with limited team responsibility - objectively y speaking), and another altogether a green OL as one of 5 integral pieces of the front line.
It's called Depth.
lolI'm just kidding, of course.

I think he's a great RG in a power scheme. But I dont think he works fully in Pats scheme, infact its the same thing with Jackson. They have some of the same skills and lack of mobility.
But Asamoah is better then Jackson and I agree with you Grid regarding Kline
But Mason gonna be much better then both of them, since he do have mobility and works when they use zone schemes. That sayed, I would love Mason at RG and finding another LG. OR swap Stork and Mason
It'd literally be only for two weeks, if it happened.
And, BTW, the league pays fixed salaries for the postseason which don't count against the salary cap.
