However, I was pissed when we cut Williams. I don't think Bill gave him an opportunity to showcase what he can do. Not everyone shines in camp/practice/combine. We should have played him vs the Texans or Titans. As soon as we cut him, Blount goes down for the season. That kid was Dion 2.0

I have to disagree. I don't think Waddle was brought in for this year, except in an emergency, but given the way he started his career, and why it got sidetracked, there's great potential for a very good young tackle here.

I don't want him cut. I want to see him in preseason next summer.

Cut Cleveland and put him back ont he PS. He's not contributing this year, if ever. Good tackles are hard to find, adn Waddle looked like he was going to be good.

Agree with your comments about Waddle, except I'm not sure keeping him on the roster is best. I think he's the most likely to clear waivers, that's how the Pats got him, nobody else wanted him enough to claim him before the Patriots so there's a good chance he clears waivers entirely. Not sure if he has PS eligibility but the torn ACL makes him a bit of a gamble, probably could be signed to a futures contract if not PS. Would like to keep him but would not want to lose Cleveland or Chandler or Seal either, and think Waddle has the best chance of sticking around after being waived.

Trey Williams moves alot like Dion Lewis but he's smaller than Lewis and probably not remotely the same Blocker as Lewis is. For our Third Down RB text book blocking is a Major requirement.

not sure he is PS eligible, been in the league four years. so perhaps beyond. Maybe back here in the future, we shall see. It is a position of depth, but more big bodies is never a bad thing. If nothing else it's competition to keep the starters on their toes.

And maybe Trey was smaller, but Trey was supremely jacked. He looked like a minature tank out there. I'm sure he could pick up the block better than a lot of our revolving door O-linemen.

What's your take on Terrell Davis then? He had his career cut short by blowing out his knee in 1999 and he did benefit significantly from the Broncos zone-blocking scheme. But in his four healthy seasons he amassed yards like few others have. In those four years he rushed for 6413 yards and had 56 rushing touchdowns and in the eight playoff games he rushed for 1140 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Short careers, especially if they've got something a bit off involved (i.e. Broncos cheating, and Broncos blocking scheme), are the toughest to judge, IMO. As you noted, TD had 4 very good seasons, including the one season where he topped 2000 yards. He was also the best offensive player on a team that won 2 Super Bowls.

In the end, it would come down to other committee members convincing me that 4 years was/was not enough. I'd walk into the room leaning towards having him make the hall.

The Blount bashing by some is really annoying. He was on a pace for a 800 yd season @ 4+yds a carry.

People are excited over Buzz Lightyear and forget that Woody is a pretty cool toy as well.

Yup, watch the Washington game. Blount played very well. Blount was good and if he and Lewis were still healthy, this running game would have been very scary.

I also think that Brady over-shadows everyone. What he can do, basically taking over a game by himself is unbelievable. I watched the Jets game again and Brady's will to win was just tremendous.

Yeah but Blount is horrible against Good/Great Defenses...a 32 year old Steven Jackson > Blount. When you have a RB who can pound it and also catch it the Defense can only do so much.

I think Lewis did offer that, and Bolden does as well, but I think the Pats see them both more as hybrid backs than early-down guys. It's definitely a departure from Blount and Ridley in a pretty big way.

Well, Lewis did for sure but he hasn't been here in a while. Bolden, while I love his enthusiasm and effort, is adequate. I thought Blount could have handled more in the passing game but McD didn't see it my way. In general, TB, whether by game plan or by personal inclination, doesn't look to the flat for outlets nearly enough regardless of who the RB is.

Really dislike the Colts signing Tre Williams.
Will like them even less if they go after Mcdaniels like I believe they will.
However I think Shula could be in the running for that job as well.
