12/16/15 - More Roster Moves

Leonard Hankerson is intriguing. He's tall, fast and has huge hands. He's a potential high upside player.

Agreed. This is one of those "why not" types of moves. Hankerson actually took over the WR2 role in ATL this year from Roddy White, and while he didn't continue to produce after that it's difficult to get a good read on that overrated Falcons team who basically packed it in 4-6 weeks ago.

I liked Hankerson. Thought I even saw him doing good things early this year. Sucks to hear he's LaFell but worse.
He's faster than LaFell. No clue if he'll figure out the offense but he's more of a downfield threat than LaFell.

Per Wiki:

During the 2014-2015 season Kitchen came out with a new sack dance called the "Kitchen Slam." During this celebration Kitchen acts like he is stirring a pot of dough in the kitchen and then slams it onto the ground

I'm sold

I like the idea of a 330 pound player getting enough sacks to need his own dance.

Claimed off Waivers: Hankerson and LaAdrian Waddle.
Waived: Damaris Johnson
IR: Blount.

I just hope that adding Waddle isn't a sign about Kline's shoulder.
Waddell is a RFA this off-season so it's likely more of a look at a potential keeper for next year than a need now. Hankerson is a UGA so this doesn't apply to him.

Yeah, right. He's at least worth kicking the tires on, in my opinion. We all want that deeper/physical threat at WR, so I have no problem with bringing him in for a look.

It certainly seems possible that he is potentially a #3 or #4 receiver. We are in need of such for next year.

Personally, I don't see Hankers learning the playbook and getting Brady'd conference in time for the playoffs. After all, we'll have Edelman, Amendola, LaFell and Martin for the playoffs. Even with one injury, I don't see much playing time.

That being said, I still think that it was a fine signing.

Agreed. I think it's practically impossible for anyone at WR to come aboard at this point in the season and contribute effectively, but snatching him up on waivers may prove beneficial when the summer time rolls around.

Hankerson had some hamstring issues but he's worth a look. More athletic then lafell.

As I posted earlier in this thread, Hankerson has TERRIBLE hands. I've watched him play all year and he dropped crucial catch after crucial catch. Think of it from the Falcon's perspective. They are absolutely desperate for a second wide receiver. Julio Jones gets double and triple teamed on every play. Roddy White is washed up and they have no tight ends worth mentioning. Yet as desperate as they are for someone - anyone - to take the pressure off of Julio, they were willing to let Hankerson walk for nothing. That tells you all you need to know about Leonard Hankerson.

Not disagreeing with you but not sure what the falcons have got right this year, so you never know. But the bigger challenge is to incorporate him in this offense and earn brady's trust. probably the weekly/biweekly scout team signing.

Titans have some pretty big receivers, so that's not a bad thought.

Not that it counts for much but I like the Hankerson acquisition a lot.

Waddle tore his ACL on 12/14/14.
Waddle was put on the PUP on 7/29/15.
Waddle passed his physical on 8/25/15, but missed all of training camp.
Looks like Waddle was also on the Injury reports through October with the knee.

So, he is now 1 year Post-Tear for an injury that takes anywhere from 6-18 months to heal from. It will be interesting to see what happens with him..

At this time of the season, he had better be a quick study or he's toast.....
