Whenever BB finds someone to fill the holes, and let's face it, he almost always does, and then Brady plays with them and the Pats compete, the media always discounts it. Any other team has injuries, and the Collinsworths of the world bemoan their bad fortune, and excuse it. The Patriots do it, and still play at a high level, and it's almost shrugged off. "Oh that's just Belichick plugging and playing." Or "Brady can just play with any JAG out there and win."

YEAH... moron... Brady CAN compete using a bunch of JAGs... and NOBODY ELSE can find competitive JAGs to fill holes like BB. NOBODY. Give the men their friggin' DUE!

Rant off.

This is true. Same thing with the lost draft picks from Defamegate.. "Oh, Belichick will figure it out." It gets tedious.

Yes, there definitely are times when they become victims of their own success.

It's true of us as fans as well. We've been spoiled by the Belichick/Brady success that we just naturally expect victories every weekend. Like how we all got bent out of shape (admittedly myself included) when we lost a home game for the first time since 2012. That just shows how impressive they have been, but instead of focusing on the good we get spoiled and frown when something does go wrong.

It happens sometimes, but pats get more than their due. The local radio station here in the bay area this evening had more than 1 caller tired ranting about hearing about brady and BB and pats every year. Even collinsworth on SNF made many compliments to ninkovich sheard ,even easely and collins(called him one of his favorite to watch in the league). And more than once he mentioned how BB amazingly finds players to keep plugging in.Of course when bad plays happen for the pats he praises the other team which is usually the underdog which always sounds anti pats.
Time to enjoy what the team does and forget about media validation.I also fall in the trap sometimes but I have wondered, do we need hollow validation from the same people we hate at ESPN/NFLN ?

To be fair, I hear people all the time commenting that the Pats have lost so many players yet keep on winning. Yes, even Collinsworth and Michaels mentioned that quite a bit during the last broadcast.

There's been a lot of anti-pats media coverage but of course much of that is catering to their fan bases who hate having the Pats win all the time. But in this instance, there has been many occasions when announcers have mentioned the key losses to injury yet marveled at the team's winning ways.

I learned very early on in life not to expect validation from people. I truly don't care if people don't compliment me measurably.

Good. Because you suck. (just kidding, dude)

I think we sometimes confuse excitement for something different for openly rooting against our team. An announcers job is made infinitely easier if there is some drama, or unexpected event that they can marvel over and try to analyze. It's more difficult to find new (and interesting) ways to say, "Yup, the Patriots are still really good." So when the Patriots are losing, the tone of their voice gets more excited because hey, this is new! And that gets construed as bias against the team, when it's really bias for the situation.

Where the injuries will really hurt (and it has already cost the Pats their only two losses) are special teams. BB has a best FG kicker in the l ague and a very good punter, he'll he even used a 5th round pick on a long snapper, but the more plays Freeney, Bolden, Ebner, Amendola, et al have to play on offense or defense, they will reduce their roles on sp dial teams and are replaced with inferior talent.

Good depth can cover up for the loss of your starting left tackle, RB, 3rd down back, both middle LB, best WR, GOAT TE, but after a while the losses begin to become cumaltive.

Hate losing Blount because he has shown in the playoffs he can take over a game. All the Pat's SB wins were with a big bruising backs (Smith, Dillon, Blount). Kinda pissed that Jonas Gray got signed off the Phins PS.

As long as Brady is still the QB, the Pat's will always have a chance.
