FML Week 15 Edition: Blount on Crutches

UGHGHGHGHGHGH!!!!

Latest on Blount's Recovery
Tuesday, Dec. 15
ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss reported Blount was spotted walking with crutches.

If we get a Bye he should be back fresh in a month not like he was setting the world on fire. The D wont be stacking the box anymore with Blount out Bolden and White are better pass options. I love us as a pass first Offense anyway...Stop it D you know it's coming.

If that son of a gun Kraft was only on the competition committee, he'd get wheelchairs OKed in time for the playoffs

Well I'd be pretty surprised if his season isn't over, but hopefully he'll be back for the playoffs. Either way, next man up.

I guess it's way too early to speculate as to how long he could be out, but that certainly is not a good look.

There has not been a season in all my years of watching any team sport ever that I can remember injuries happening to one team like this . . . especially when you consider a majority of them have been to key/star players. It's getting to the point where I either expect a flag or an injury after every play.

I gotta be honest. I don't mind seeing Bolden get a full time look. I've always liked the way the guy plays.
I just don't think he's that type of back. He's good when used sparingly. I don't know if he can take a pounding all game long. Plus, you lose him on ST's and that's where he's most talented, IMO. I'm sure he'll get a lot of touches, but I'm also sure that a lot of them will be in the short passing game/screen game than strictly inside the tackles type stuff.

They have to activate Iosefa at this point, no? I can't see heading into a game with 2 RBs and 0 FBs.

Because the OL has no part in his usefulness....

Blount is a damn good player, but his game requires a good OL. We don't have that this year.
Yeah, this year has not looked good along the O-Line. I see so much potential in the young G's. C is TBD because you have a young kid in Andrews who has played well, but how much upside is there really? And you have Stork who is good with great upside, but he may prove to be either injury prone or concussion prone. Vollmer is the stalwart, but how much time does he have in that body? And Cannon anywhere along the line scares me.

Now some of these issues are exacerbated by the fact that the weapons are all out or not at full strength. The deficiencies were masked a great deal at the beginning the the season when Brady was getting the ball out in like 2.1 or something ridiculous like that. Things may have just gotten harder with Blount sidelined for what looks like a while at least (being generous) because at least there was a threat to run with him on the field. Teams are going to be pinning the proverbial ears back now for sure.

I don't know if I've ever seen injury eat through a team like it has this year's version of the Pats.

He's 5'11" 220. Prototype size. I don't see why he can't take the 13-15 touches a game Blount was getting, plus he's a better receiver out of the backfield. I don't think they'd be asking him to take ADP level touches.

Even if you like Bolden, they cannot go into a game with 2 RBs on the roster.

I was hoping that it was just a hip pointer, which hurts like $%$@ initially but heals up in a week or two.

I don't think you'd be on crutches two days later with a hip pointer, though, so it doesn't sound good.
