You're right, my bad. I wonder why they didn't have a Sunday night game that weekend. Odd.

The NFL use to not play Sunday Night on the first weekend of the World Series. Which up until 2007 was game 2. But in 2007 MLB a switched to having games 3 and 4 on the weekend. So after that the NFL started scheduling SNF vs World Series.

IIRC in 2007 Pats had 7 prime time games. The last one was supposed to be on the new (back then) nfl network which only some people had at the time. There was a lot of *****ing and moaning around the country because many people weren't able to see if pats finished with perfect season. That whole week the NFL was getting slammed daily for restricting the game to only the NFL Network.

The NFL then decided to show it on both NFL network and CBS (I think it was CBS), giving some BS explanation like 'we're flexible and we want everyone to be able to view our games'.

IIRC, that was the game that was given to both NBC and CBS and, since Channel 5 was the official broadcast station of the Patriots and were supposed to be allowed to carry that game over the air in market, they had it too. So all 3 stations showed that game in Boston.
