Really! How many passes have it this clown in the hands and he doesn't make the catch!! FYI Receivers are suppose to catch the dam ball!!! We are 13 games in you better have a rhythm by now!!!
We are 13 weeks in but LaFell is only 5.

laFAIL

havent said that in over a year...guy quits on deep routes.
leaves brady hanging out to dry. no more of that **** brandon

Obviously you dont follow the team.

LaFell is a really good player, but he's streaky and it's quite different when you are the #3/4 target versus the #1/2 target. He is a great complimentary piece, as is Amendola. LaFell caught everything last year but is struggling with his hands right now. A lot of passes are really close to being big gains.

He is way better than Brandon Lloyd, Chad Ochostinko, Deion Branch reloaded, and all the busts they've put on the outside. I think many could be singing a different tune after the postseason, as I think he will get back in sync.

I am not ready to bury JoJo yet. He was a very underrated part of our SB run.

Here is what it comes down to, in my opinion, for opposing defenses to scheme against:

Gronkowski + Edelman + Lewis + LaFell + Amendola

versus

LaFell + Amendola + Martin + Bolden/White + Chandler

And then we wonder why LaFell is less effective?

That's why he quits on routes and can't catch a cold?

Brandon LaFAIL is absolutely, inexcusably PUTRID on deep routes. He has NO FECKIN IDEA WHATSOEVER how to track the ball and, if not catch it, at least draw a DPI flag. He did the same
feckin thing last week in Denver that cost us a TD, and therefore the game.
Keyshawn Martin, with not nearly the experience here, drew a DPI flag on his deep route; I propose
that if another bomb is attempted, then Martin's number is the one that is called for the job.

I refuse to believe that LaFell just decided now to stop running his routes part way through.

If you made me guess, I'd say this is pretty typical but is just being noted now because of how rarely they needed to extend the play that long. We saw the same complaints last week when Chandler was the desperation bomb target of choice.

It seems that these guys just aren't sure what to do on extended plays, probably because they're so used to somebody getting open. I was always under the impression that receivers like that are supposed to run back toward the QB, but all Brady's misses have been too long. The Pats' system is notorious for even just the initial route being dependent on QB and WR interpretation being the same, and it seems they're not on the same page on what to do if nobody gets open on their initial route.

I'm not sure if my comment will be relevant to your thoughts, but last week I felt as though a lot of these long heaves down the field are coming out of desperation, and I feel the same this week as well.

We all know that our offense is predicated on the short, quick, timing routes, which are not there nearly as often now. LaFell and Brady obviously don't have much chemistry on these longer downfield throws, as we've seen in the past 2 games. Aside from LaFell, we really don't have anyone else, which is exactly why I felt that getting the running game going was just about the best way we could offset the injury losses. Unfortunately, the coaches have not felt as though the running game is needed nearly as much as I seem to.

Its strange considering how great he was last year. Right now, the Defenses are keying on him as if he is the number 1 WR, (due to injuries). He's just not a number 1 guy.

Dobson had more snaps than Lafell, before he got hurt, and he would be able t o strch the field.

When you cast a fourth option into a first or second option, then there will be problems..

This team has got to stop trying for the long pass.. last week Chandler this week LaFell, neither have enough "heart" to fight for the ball..

I am not disappointed because of the deep bombs that he cant haul in but rather the high percentage, easy catches that he drops (e.g. on the final drive last night). But its not like Martin was better. There is just no dependable option except for Amendola right now no matter if we go short, intermediate or deep. He seems to be the only one coming up more often than not with tough catches.

BB will kill him. When I heard his comments about BB making any team looks like world class or something like that, I knew there was trouble in the making. We pretty much disrespected the Eagles before the game, and during the game.

Doing that stupid drop kick was completely disrespectful.

Brandon Lafell

has been terrible this season. Discuss.
This year especially he is Brandon LaFAIL.....is he even better than Keyshawn Martin right now?! The guy has cement hands and is a sloppy player.......he drops nearly EVERYTHING ....he has been average at best his whole career....he'll be gone after this year or sooner

Seriously. It's amazing how guys like Lafell get a pass for clearly giving up on a route, running the wrong route, etc etc. Meanwhile I don't remember Moss ever giving up on a route in his time with NE, yet that's still all we ever heard.

I'm not completely done on Lafell yet since he did have a good season last year, but we just really REALLY could use better depth (any depth) at receiver and someone who can actually stretch the field AND catch the ball...
Look what they did with Jules. Maybe they should give JimmyG a try at wr.

Agreed.

He is also didn't start last season on fire. This is game 5 for him, and he is nice, complementary piece to Gronk and JE.

I'm not thrilled with the route running yesterday, but he was a big piece of the puzzle down the stretch last year. He had almost 1000 receiving yards last season and caught pretty much everything thrown his way for the final 10 games of the season, including the 3 that mattered most.

Nothing about it was disrespectful. They thought it might surprise/confuse the Eagles and it didnt work as intended. There was no real downside to doing it. It is the same as the Dola to Brady trick play but somehow nobody critizises that one because it worked.

If the dropkick would have worked everyone would kiss BB's ass and say how it paid off to have a rugby player on the team to make that play.

Shortly after the kick the defense gave up 20 yards on a 3rd & 10. That completed pass affected what came after so much more than the dropkick..

Except for last year, when he didn't miss the whole off-season/pre-season/first half of season to an injury. Maybe that has some effect...

I have been among his biggest supporters. I've often posted about how he's a complete receiver. The drops were not really an issue last season. I don't know what's happening. I posted about him in the game thread and how bad I thought he has been the past few games. The catch against the Broncos to set up Gost (a very underrated play in the midst of everything else) was so clutch. Other than that, zilch. Now how much of that is how they're using him is a debate to be had, I suppose, but his lack of production, especially compared to last season, is glaring. He was surrounded by guys to take the pressure off of him last season too, though. He's your Lee Evans type. Really good when not asked to be #1 guy.
