Did anyone hear this on the sports hub yesterday? I don't have a link or anything but he most definitely said that Edelman isn't a lock for an early January return. I'm not sure if he was just speculating or if he had a piece of information about Edelman rehab. Any thoughts on this comment?

Given Betard's smarm and shabby reporting over the last year, you need this to be taken with anything he says:

There have been multiple posts on this which offers no news on JE11. There is a wide range of times for return to play from a Jones fracture by NFL WRs and 6-8 weeks is on the low end of the range. In addition, recovery of full use takes even longer. So it is reasonable to expect him back, but bones heal gradually and nobody can predict how his foot will feel (running and, more importantly, planting and cutting) at any particular future time. Bringing in new WRs this week could well be at least partly in recognition of this contingency.

I didn't know Bedard was the orthopedist performing Edelman's surgery... Never ceases to amaze me how much these mediots think they know when it comes to medical matters.

As long as he's ready for the Superbowl... o_O:)

Bedard's correct. This was talked about when the diagnosis was first given. It could be 6-8 weeks, if there are no complications. It could be months if the bone doesn't heal. There's also a range in between.

Nothing to see here.

we won't get to the superbowl without him.

While it gets a lot harder, the only team that has a great chance of beating us in the AFC is Denver (I don't trust Cincy), and we almost beat them without Edelman, on the road, without Amendola, and were winning comfortably before a muffed punt, some terrible officiating, and the loss of our best run defender. Give me a healthy Gronk, Dola, and defense, and we can beat anyone in the AFC, with or without Edelman.

I dont think it's a lock either but I guarantee I have as much insight into JE's recovery and potential to return than Porkins Bedard
My sentiments exactly. I could have told you Edelman being back this year is not a lock and I know as much as Bedard. He's just stating the (painfully) obvious (no pun intended).

Exactly. The dude's not IR'd, so the team's hoping to get him back. That's about the end of the conversation for now (and until the playoffs, or maybe possibly week 17).

In all seriousness, no one really knows how fast he will heal with injuries like that. There's a timetable give or take a few weeks on either end so Bedard is pretty much reporting the same **** most everyone else with 1/2 a brain already knows. Nothing new there.

Bedard heard it from a national guy I have never heard of (I can't even remember his name). It isn't like Bedard has any information on his own. And I doubt the guy he spoke with has direct information.

I will wait for Adam Schefter, Jeff Howe, Tom E Curran, Mike Reiss, or someone else with a lifeline into the Pats' organization to say something before I get excited either way.

Zo said his sources say that Edelman will be ready closer to six week rather than eight weeks, but that was a week or so ago. So who knows if that is still the case.

edelman shouldn't return until he is 100 percent, which would be next season.

wait a second, this is julian edelman, if he's 75% he'll be out there making plays/helping the team
