While Lewis is special, the 3rd down RB in this offense is plug n play.

Gronk is not.

People are probably clicking "disagree" because they think you're dissing Lewis (despite calling him special). You're probably right, though. Nothing this year has indicated otherwise, with White and Bolden each stepping up when needed and looking fine.

Oh yea. I'm getting killed. It's all good.

Lewis is awesome and if he goes on IR it'll hurt for a bit. But this team will go on and adapt and excel.

Losing Gronk is an entirely different story. There is really no comparison.

That is my point.

Unless you had money on the game (and they did cover anyway), I simply do not understand this attitude. And don't get me wrong, I hear yours a lot more than I hear mine.

They completely dominated a team that put 24 up in a quarter last week. They pounded the ball successfully throughout, for the first time all year. Defense was suffocating, and was able to overcome mistakes on offense.

Who the hell cares how much they won by? This just in, it was a lot.
Who are you to try and call me out like that?

Ok, that's what unreasonable sounds like (not that you were that bad, but you went off the rails a bit on your reply). Did I say I was complaining? Did I mention anything about the defensive performance? nope, seems you brought some of your own personal opinion into what i said.

I didn't complain (specifically said I wasn't). Just had that feeling the offense lost it's rhythm and it might have felt more like a trap game. The offense was moving and did well, but seemed to usually have some issues with many/most drives. They did well getting out of trouble, but it just seemed like most drives had some level of issue (penalties, negative plays, ...)

Some of the credit I'd give to the Washington defense and in the course of a season, this might be our version of a clunker (so if this is as bad as it gets, it's all good.).

They had a 27-3 lead with :25 to go.

Trap game? You've gotta be kidding me.

If Lewis is out, Bolden will shine. He has exceptional hands as well.

BB and Brady let off the gas vs the Skins. I surmise that they did not want to embarrass John Grudens son. The Pats did not play well across the board, but still came out on top.

I hope Andelman is OK. That hit rocked him.

Are we 100% sure this is a knee? To me it looked like he got knocked out cold.

it did, but the reports of a knee seem far too consistent for it to be otherwise. At first I thought he was possibly concussed, but he was in pain after. We'll have to wait for the MRI and reports tomorrow.

Is it me or is there a lot of tension in this thread?

Please be reminded that other teams get injuries, as well. And it's a long season.

Bottom line: Who is healthy in the play-offs?

And as I posted in today's game thread, all I'm looking for is a healthy team with home-field advantage. The rest (e.g. stats, margin of wins and stuff) is all...whatever one makes of it.

My main concern for these (current set of) injuries is their leading to other/new injuries. What's the sense in getting everyone back any losing some key players (e.g. Gronk, Brady, Edelman at al)?

2nd Bottom Line: I'm going to let Coach fix all this. He's the best in the world at all things football.

Its a toe injury right?

From WebMD on turf toe (which is a sprain in the toe ligaments): "It typically takes two to three weeks for the pain to subside. After the immobilization of the joint ends, some patients require physical therapy in order to re-establish range of motion, strength, and conditioning of the injured toe."

So three plus weeks...

01 ~ I hope that I'm not coming across as disagreeable, Brother Weathers, for I'm a big Fan of yours, but this is the second time I've disagreed with you ~ though only partially so ~ today: I wouldn't go so far as to agree that SpeedBacks are "Plug & Play". I thought it was foolish to let Uncanny Danny go to San Diego and doubly foolish to let Shifty Shane go to New York. They are special Talents who offer far more dynamic Impact than the likes of the estimable White and Bolden, I believe. This is also true of Lewis, and I believe that the Drop Off will be considerable while he's out. Even so, I agree with your Core Point, and have always described HalfBack as coming closer to being easy to replace than any other Position without a substantial Drop Off.

Unfortunately, Mad Bill didn't see fit to develop or retain Depth of Talent at the Position.

Perhaps White'll surprise me. I've always considered him a capable if not spectacular SpeedBack, but perhaps there's more there than I've perceived. God knows: That turned out to be the case with Lewis, himself.

02 ~ And I agree 100% with the Relativity that you described regarding Kong: His loss cost us at least one Championship and maybe two. His Role is essential and the Drop Off behind him is cataclysmic.

That's why I mocked Travis Kelce to us a couple Years ago.

Of course he would he should Lewis is as important this season as Edelman or Gronk

I've been the biggest Lewis booster here and that's ridiculous. James White is as good a receiver or better. We just run less. We miss some oos and ahhs, but Gronk is irreplaceable.

It's all good, Grid.

Losing Lewis would be a huge loss.

Losing Gronk would be death to any SB hopes.

On a positive note, LaFell looked fantastic today.

And I do think that the coaches took the foot off the accelerator offensively once the pats got 20 points up.

Not sure how you think he was knocked out. Replay clearly showed him grabbing at his knee. And the doctor immediately was doing testing on his knee while still on the field...
