I was at the game, I am not a Xs and Os guy like some here, so I'll just share my quick thoughts
1. I was in section 124. That leaping sideline catch by Amendola was one of the best I have ever seen. Only a great athlete could catch a ball like that. Danny had proven himself to be extremely clutch, and reliable since the playoffs last year. I'm glad he's on our team
2. I've never seen Tom so calm, cool, and collected in the pocket. He's in the zone like we've never seen before, sit back and enjoy the show.
3. Lafell will be fine. He was getting open, that's the important thing. His hands will be better in the future. We need him with his size and abilities, opens up doors for Gronkowski
4. Dominique Easley has an incredible burst. He may not get sacks, but his incredible explosiveness opens up the line allowing others to make the plays/sacks
5. O line was solid. Vollmer is quite smart out there. He handled the bull rushes with ease. He never gets pushed back, he only struggles with fast athletic types. Fleming had a great day other than the first series when he got beat on a double move. When Shaq, Cannon, and stork return, I will be very confident of this unit against anyone
6. Collins and Hightower should be on the first team pro bowl. Collins first team All Pro, potentially DPOY. He's all over the field, a playmaker in every phase of the game. A freak athlete
7. Butler did ok. He's only in his second year, we can't expect him to shutdown capable WRs every week at this point in his career. In 2-3 years, he could become that guy. Just give him time, he's improving
8. McCourty better not get shunned of a probowl this year, he's the glue that holds the secondary together.
9. Jets made a big mistake switching from man coverage in the first half to more zone looks in the 2nd half. Brady picked them apart on those last few drives because of the change
10. We did a great job closing out that game offensivley. Mcdaniels made great adjustments.
Great win. This team reminds me of the 03-04 and 14 team in one aspect: they appear very clutch. I have the same sort of confidence in this team as I did in those teams, that we will always make the plays in the close games necessary to ensure victory. We are mentally tough and clutch, two very important attributes. 6-0 feels great, let's get that home field.
