NFL Week 3

Agreed. But Rodgers has a pretty good shot of winning that one too this year. it'd be a hell of a battle if it came down to Brady vs. Rodgers for both of those awards.

Even when Rodgers loses the SB against Brady they'll give him the MVP.
Who cares, we want another gaudy ring.

"We're three weeks into the season" would be a good one.
It's not that simple though this game has made me drink a little too much I need something good here.

That's a f***ing safety.

If he caught it and stopped at the one or started running and then went into the endzone then it would be a safety. If momentum takes you in its a touchback. Same on a punt.

I've never understood the point of observations like that, because we see this every year. There's always at least 2-3 offenses that look unstoppable for the first month of the season, sometimes more than that. But then you give it 2 months, watch the weather change and the injuries pile up, and by December even the most unstoppable September offense turns out to be stoppable.

So when people make observations like the one Rap just made, I have to figure they either a) don't watch football, or b) have the memory of a goldfish. The '05 Colts, '07 Pats, '11 Pats, and '14 Packers offenses turned out to be stoppable. Not easy to stop, but possible to stop. Makes no sense that someone who actually watches the football can't imagine that this offense will eventually be stopped as well.

The main difference between the two offenses:

-The Patriots offense is impossible to stop because of matchups.
-The Packers offense is impossible to stop because of talent.

Were it not for Revis getting toasted by Jordy Nelson, and a Gronk end zone drop, that game last year has a different result.

Anyway, causal fans see talent. They don't see matchups. They don't get why Edelman or Dion Lewis cause such fits in coverage. They don't get why Gronk appears open on every play. They don't get how Brady is barely touched, despite these "elite" defenses. They don't get how the Patriots move the ball without a OMGTAKETHETOPOFFHTEDEFENSE guy. Why does it always seem like, when they want to run, they don't have much trouble?

Casual fans see sweet throws by Rodgers on the run, but they don't see why he'd break the pocket for no reason. Remember all the "Packers Will Suck Because No Jordy Nelson" talk at the beginning of the year? You know and I know that was ********. All Rodgers needs are fast guys who can run a scramble drill. Also, an elite 3-down RB doesn't hurt either.

People don't understand why the Patriots offense is good, and why the defense always seems to be in the wrong place. They see Rodgers and that he runs around and throws 50 yards across his body on a dime. Good stuff.

Although, Rodgers only has 9 4th-quarter comebacks, has never come back from 9 points down, and is 2-5 in the playoffs outside of his 2010 playoff run. One of those was a win against Joe Webb.

If you run a timing/matchup offense like say, the early 90s Cowboys did, those players absolutely respect what the Patriots do. If you run a scramble drill offense, that's why the 00s Steelers and the Ray Lewis' and the like respect him.

If you notice on the pregame, it's Dilfer, "Rodgers/Packers are the best". Young, "Rodgers/Packers are ONE of the best". A quick distinction, but a distinction nonetheless, from 2 QBs, one who ran a "please let us complete a pass today" offense, and the other ran the original West Coast Offense.

U think rodgers doesn't wanna pile his stats?
I have no idea what Rodgers thinks and couldn't care less. I think this topic has a lot more to do with fans, and fans are full of **** on this topic: we all get excited when Brady breaks a record, but when someone else does "SELFISH PRICK." It's so insecure. What's wrong with Rodgers being great? Brady's been great for 10+ years and has 4 rings. Chill out lol no one's knocking him off Mt. GOAT anytime soon. It just makes Patriots fans seem petulant and flagrantly douchey when they constantly have to knock down any QB who might threaten the sole greatness of TB12.

And btw, there are exceptions obviously, such as a QB who rehearses his record-breaking celebration weeks in advance. That kind of QB you can safely assume cares too much about records.

The Arizona cardinals have looked really good but they haven't played anybody. Interesting to see how they do against a decent team.

Gaa Gaa Goony Rodgers !!! He the MVP of the league GOO GOO GAA GAA!!!!!

yeah Chuckie...and what did he have for dinner tonight ? You're up there far enough you little scumbag weasel biatch.

The "MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"...except when the playoffs roll around and he isn't at home with the raining pass interference penalties every time he sheets the bed on ANY friggin play...how many calls tonight??? ten? more???...but on the road? awwwww poor PEDESTRIAN Discount Double Dork...and don't go all fantasy geek beserk on me...what happened last season?? HE STB against Seattle and what happened when Brady went up against the very same team??

This game was a travesty tonight...obviously a league mandated gaa gaa goo goo fest from the very first flag thrown in the first minute...screw Goodell, this cretinous rotten sonuvab!tch ba$tard and his Disney backed scumbag billionaire posse.

GB reminds of the 2000s Colt. A flash in the pan during the regular season and mediocre in the playoffs. I still think Seattle can beat them even in Lambeau...

all brady needs to do is get that 5th ring. it ends all the debate. just get that #5. no more montana comparisons. no more 'rodgers will be the greatest'. no more debates. #5 solves everything.

let's get that #5.

Seems silly to me for some reason, appears you're right though

Let's make bets.

What will you do if the Chiefs come back here?

The media hyping Rodgers (who is hype worthy) is fine by me. Sure beats the Andrew Luck drivel...

Cardinals maaaay be the most talented team in football right now. The offense can score from anywhere and the defense is top 5 in the league. Certainly the most well rounded right now.

It all comes down to palmer's health for them.

KC is playing like it's the 1st quarter or something.

you just make us look bad.

Rodgers is great. even brady had some down years in the playoffs. what are you gonna say if rodgers go on a roll and get to the SB again?

i understand that jealousy/hate/whatever, but take the high road and just focus on our team.

right now brady/rodgers/julio jones are clear cut mvp leaders. it's only week 3.

Seems silly to me for some reason, appears you're right though

Its just so momentum doesn't cost you 2 points. Now that I re-read I forgot to add its the same thing on an INT too. Obviously you don't see it often or ever on punts because the rule of thumb for the returner is plant your heals on the 10 and don't ever run back to catch it.

Clay Matthews is a ****ing tool

My brother has been trying to convince me Rodgers has Been the MVP so far this season. Hmm any suggestions on what I should respond with?

Tell him he should get it. He can put all of them next to his one ring.

Perfectly worded. Any fan on this board that pretends to not love when brady piles up the stats or when we run up the score on someone is flatout lying. But if anyone else does it.....
