Week Two NFL Games Thread

I wish we could go to Denver earlier while they are still playing that bad. At some point in a few weeks their offense will figure out what works and their defense will regress a bit. They should have lost both games but are 2-0 and might still win their division somehow.

Yeah, they still might pull out a division crown somehow, especially considering that they only have 3 "real" divisional games left, with two of them being at Mile High stadium.

You can't count the Raiders as a threat, and I think it's fairly safe to assume that even if they suck and only hover around .500 or so, they're still going to hit double digit victories, considering that they're already 2-0 with wins over two tough defenses.

This Kubiak offense is obviously not working for the Broncos...Manning looked comfortable on that final drive.

I couldn't imagine either of these teams causing us concern, we also get better in Nov. & Dec. too.

Bet that kid would have done a better job.

what a final...

pity and sad for the KC crowd...

Poor Chiefs fans. They have the game in the bag then the coaching staff decides to leave Marcus Peters one on one against Thomas until it was too late. Then, when they could have taken a knee and played for OT, they call a run that ends up in a turnover for 6.

Looking forward to this game to get a better read on Peyton's decline and to see if KC is for real and ready to take over out west or just the usual tease.
KC is not for real. They are a collection of headless talent. They'll win their share of games against teams with less talent and similarly inept coaching but they are not ready for the big time. SD is all there is that stands between Denver and a division title.

Peyton is nearly done. On most of his passes it looked like he was trying to heave a medicine ball.

Rolling out, as featured in Kubiak's offense, is not going to work towards Manning's success or longevity.

I saw a few Manning faces that I attributed to Peyton's disdain for the plays called. He obviously dumped Kube's game for his own at the end.

Kubiak is going to have a hard time if he persists in trying to jam Peyton into a scheme that doesn't fit. Peyton won't like it. Archie won't like it. Elway will hear from Archie.

One question. Will KC be the first team ever to go two seasons in a row without a WR scoring a TD?

But on the play in question, I thought he landed on a defensive player.
He did....and thus the penalty. My original point was....why not send a leaper over the center every extra point. The path is clear and the reward is huge if the leaper can perform a clean "vault'. Any penalty has no real negative effect so why not give it a go.

Yes!!
You can actually see Smith's nuggets shrinking the deeper his team gets in the red zone

I always liked Smith, I thought he was a little more than a game manager, underrated player, yesterday though he showed exactly the QB he is. I now put him in Ryan Fitzmagic class.

Because it is an "unsportsman" foul. Correct my if I am wrong but if you repeatedly commit those refs can give out pretty serious penalties (ejections, up to even points to other team)

KC offense is terrible. i heard they only attempted something like 7 passes that went pass FIVE yards. They only had something around 20 attempts that went past 20 yards all of last season. Just bring everybody in and dare them to throw deep.

Two fumbles by Charles. Nice hands!

You watched that game and thought "Wow, Denver is good" ???

They would've been blown out if their coach and offense weren't incompetent as hell and if KC catches just 1 of those 4 Manning INTs they missed.

Or if they could hold on to the ball.

Sounds like I made the right decision in falling asleep so early last night. A game like last night's is only worth staying up for if Manning loses.

Kudos to Jim Harbaugh for dumping him. Remember how controversial that was?
