Nice piece on WR Kenbrell Thomkins who won practice player on the week we know he has knowledge of the Offenese and a good repoire with Brady. The question now is do they promote him from the Practice Squad? Aaron Dobson Needs to Factor with LaFell being out, one look a game from 30 snaps ain't going to cut it against Good Defenses who see you as a joke. I think if Dobson struggles continues the Team should move on with Thompkins who is a legitimate threat outside the numbers. Hate crying over spilled milk but every time I see Third Rounders Keenan Allen - Terrance Williams and Marcus Wheaton all taken well after Second Rounder Aaron Dobson you can't but hang your head.

Even if Aaron Dobson is not the answer, I highly doubt Kembrell Thompkins, will be the answer to whatever question you are asking. I highly doubt Dobson has done anything wrong thus far in the early season.

How do you know Dobson struggled? The team knows what they have in Kenbrell, I doubt a single black jersey means much to his 53 man potential.

Dobson may be a bigger disappointment than Thompkins, but he's still the better player.

Tom Brady had 7 incompletions all game, including two to wide open receivers (one overthrow of Amendola, one bobble drop by Lewis). Dobson was, at best, the fifth option in that gameplan, which resulted in 4 touchdowns through the air and no turnovers. I don't think Dobson was a problem in that game that needs to be solved, nor do I think plugging Kenbrell (or anyone else available right now), would have resulted in more targets for the WR3.

People need to be patient with Dobson just like Belichick was with Edelman.

He's had a good, not great, rookie season and then no 2nd year, nothing to gain here moving on from him unless they trade for a proven player.

Im not so sure that Edelman is a good comparison. He was a good return man right off the bat and showed quickness and an ability to get separation in the slot. I'm not sure what Dobson's problem is. He has the size and speed to be elite but just can't get separation at times, doesn't seem to be in synch with Brady and drops easy catches. I hope you're right and he improves but I am not holding my breath at this point.

Dobson was getting separation regularly this preseason, his only remaining issue is his hands. I'm not sure whether it is the yips or he has pizza paddles, but otherwise he looks perfectly viable out there.

Thompkins is a good backup plan type player. Good addition to the practice squad. Glad he's back in NE.

Which is very unlikely to happen. Kenbrell will get promoted if/when an injury opens a spot for him.

I think the ship has sailed on Dobson. It's his third year. Last year he was injured and if he was ambitious he would have studied the playbook, aced it, came to training camp and be at least on par with Amendola. At the very least he could have worked on not double catching. There are just too many flaws that should have improved by now. The ability he offers is a deep threat and if that's all he offers why not bring in Pryor. I like thompkins a little more but he doesn't offer anything lafell or amendola doesn't have.
