I wonder how prominently he'll be in the game plan for week 2.

I don't see week 2 as much of a running game. I think spread mostly.

Probably will be signed to a practice squad.

They ran all over them in 2013 but not as well last year.

He should be active and get 10-15 carries. They need to be careful with that BUF pass rush. Lots of draws. Could be good for Lewis and Cadet.

Yeah, I remember that game. I think historically, though, we've usually attacked them through the air. As far as what you say about the pass rush, I absolutely agree, especially now that Rex is at the controls. His defenses have frustrated Brady numerous times and now he has really good personnel to use (unlike last season's group - he still gave Brady fits). The O-Line is still a mystery to me and I think they benefited from playing an inexperienced team that decided not to cover Rob Gronkowski on a number of plays and a D that decided to play zone a lot, which is pretty much a dare to Brady. LOL

I see Lewis having another really good game, mostly as a pass catcher. And yeah, I think the draw a few times out of the shotgun will be used and used well. It'll at least keep those overload blitzes at bay. I wonder if we'll see the screen game at all?

They've got some good screen players and ran it a few times in preseason. Good thing to run to cool off that pass rush

No doubt. I feel they hardly use it anymore though. I think that's in part because teams across the league are so much better at recognizing and defending it now than they were even a ten years ago. It's not just the Pats. I see teams routinely blowing up screen plays now. But if they catch Buff in an all out blitz or something like that, it's ova!

Well, better talent at the skill positions and faster defenses might also have something to do with mothballing the plays

Re: the lack of screen plays, it seems that more often than I would like to see, Brady's passes to the RB
are INCs, either by outright missing the target or by having the attempt knocked-away. And of course, there's also the attempted screen to BJGE during the first drive of the 2010 POs.
I have a feeling that the traditional screen pass isn't a real big priority in Bill & Skippy's game plan.

Is this a free pass for Martin to the practice squad for the Patriots? He was cut today and teams play tomorrow. No one would pick him up for the 53 now.

Not really. If someone wants him, they'll pick him up and cut a player who would have been inactive for the game.
