So is anyone actually insinuating that the Pats would do ANYTHING nefarious after the last few months? That's just batshit crazy.
oh the tomlin prsser was full of that. one guy kept asking again and again saying its serious.

Say what you will about Butler being Tyree 2.0, it's not showing on the field. For essentially a redshirt rookie facing one of the best receivers in the league, he played well and kept fighting. The kid is beyond mentally tough. He's gonna develop.

Yeah. Big learning experience. If he can't play a lot more effectively than this, it will be purely some athletic failing. His body stayed close to Brown's and his hands stayed close to the football; the passes just got completed anyway.

One of the early catches was almost as ridiculous as the Kearse one, actually; just not nearly as dramatic.

I saw that. What's the starting QB win record overall, and who holds it? Montana? It can't be that much higher than the single-season one.
Probably also Favre. He got a lot of wins with the Jets and Vikings on top of the ones he got with the Packers. #2 can't be Montana, he suffered injuries in his career and competed for starts with Young. It's probably QB who had a long career and was very healthy and played on good teams, which would likely be either Elway or Manning.

Will Tomlin get fined for blaming the NFL radio techs for losing?

Lewis with more polish is an upgrade over Vereen. He can actually run like Woodhead.

Andrews another UDFA gem.

Love unlikely contributors stepping up.
I called Andrews in the preseason. I said he would make the team. I did not know he would contribute in the first game, though. He can develop into something special, and with Stork seemingly on an injury trajectory, we may need Andrews down the line. I love Stork, but it's looking like the guy may be one of those frustrating cases where the talent is mitigated by his body.

Lewis had sixty yards rushing, averaged 4.6 yds per carry, had 4 receptions for fifty yards and blocked well on third down. This was after missing portions of the preseason as well as the last two regular seasons. I think that's a hell of a start and i think we'll see him in week two.

0-1 for Pittsburgh

…*****es.

Some of the game thread guys not only want a 16-0 season but every game won 45-0.

I don't get it, Ben is a great QB and Brown is one of the best WRs in the league and yet he was held to one TD at the end of a game when it was over.
Ignore it, Venecol. People act like 16-0 grows on trees. There's a reason why it's celebrated. It's because it's rare and extremely difficult to do.

defense will get better ( hopefully )..just be average/gtfo off the field on 3rd down.

love what i saw from lewis..except for the late drop. our new vereen/woodhead!:D

GO PATS!

I have been saying this to my friends all through the preseason. Lewis reminds me of KEVIN FAULK. He is going to be a huge part of the offense, IMO.

Satisfying to see a win after the last 7 months. Both teams left some plays on the field. Tomlin is most likely one of the sources for a bunch of those things in ESPN and SI's articles. Crybaby crap, grow the F up and accept that your clock management left points off the board.

4 TDs for Brady. Guy is ageless.

Gronkowski is a freak of nature. Not bad for no preseason .

Edelman shifty as ever.

Thought the 3 rookies did alright for themselves in their first action. Especially impressed with Andrews out of nowhere. They will all get better. Preseason now extends into about the 4 th game of the regular season.

I thought Lewis was pretty good. The fumble and the blown pass coverage were a minus but not the end of the world. Blount will be back soon. 3rd down back could be carved out soon if he continues.

Ben Roethlisberger is a top 5 Qb.

Antonio Brown is a joy to watch. Butler competed and that's all you can ask for. Hope he learned a few things from the encounter.

Run defense is worrisome. Think it will get better as the season progresses.

Pass defense was nothing great. Pass rush showed itself at times and will also get better. Thought Easley was gonna have a big night until the injury. Sheard looked explosive at times. Hightower had some nice stops and a few nice rushes through the A gap.

Thought Pitt played well. They had some trouble executing and it cost them. Clock management could of been better at the end of the both halves.

**** the people complaining about the headsets. Take it up with the NFL.
