One thing that San Cry-ego fans aren't getting. Interesting that Seau wants to play one more year to get a ring, but will sign with NE instead of a SD team that he played for. I guess Seau knows which team he has the best chance to win a Super Bowl with, and it ain't with that woman LT and his band of crybabies.
We had the best of Junior for quite a few years. Most of us still love Junior and what he did for the team and the city.

Truth be told it's highly unlikely we'd take Jr back at this point in his career. He's past his prime. Hope the pats get as much as they can?

Let me put it this way we SD fans aren't worried about Jr right now.

Yeah, but what if San Diego actually has to win a playoff game to get there? We may just miss each other!
Heheh, touché. I had to laugh at that or else I'd have to cry. All I'll say is that if we're not on a mission this year we probably never will be. Look at it this way. We've got Indy and the Ravens on our schedule this year and our intent to make it as easy we can for NE to square up against us. We want it to be clear sailing for NE to get to us by nicking the perennial contenders.

The biggest knucklehead of them all has this sig:

"The Patriots are playing fantasy football and have made some of the most head scratching moves in the history of the NFL. In just a few months they have turned into the laughing stock of the league"
Mark Kiszla, Denver Post

I wanted to read the article, but I can't find it anywhere.

I went to the Denver Post website, and couldn't find an article written by Kiszla that features this quote. Also, when I did a google search the only place I found that quote was in that posters signature. I have a feeling that's a BS quote. Also, I should mention Kiszla is often called a hack by those who read him on a normal basis in Denver.

I just got a response from Kiszla via e-mail. The Chargers fan MADE IT UP.

Michael:
Thanks for writing.
Those are not my words.
Never wrote them.
Never thought them.
If you would be so kind to tell me what message forum it is, I'd be appreciative.
I don't need anybody putting words in my mouth.
I can come up with plenty of dumb ideas on my own.
Thanks,
Mark Kiszla

Wow! There's not even this much "diarhea of the keyboard" @ the IndyStar forum from Colts fans. The whole thread was kind of funny at first, but after a while it was downright pathetic. Let's be real here! The Chargers were the most athletically talented team on the field that day, but that was it! The Pats hung around long enough to snatch it away. That's just another way they know how to win! As far as 9/16 goes, let 'em talk. I doubt that Brady or Belichick hasn't forgotten the last time the Bolts were in Foxboro and all the SH#T they spewed after that game.

Ya see, now, I gotta disagree with that. Here's the chain of events and what caused them.

- Mid 3rd quarter, Parker fumbles a punt. NE had nothing to do with that. That was a mental lapse by a player. You recovered on our end of the field and ended up scoring a TD. You didn't "snatch" anything there. It was handed to you.

- 3-4 Minutes later 4th down at the pat 48. NE's getting ready to punt, DFLO headbutts an NE player and rightfully incurs a personal foul. Again, another mental lapse. Of course you get the 1st but we STILL stopped you from scoring a TD and forced you to kick a FG. Again, I don't see that you "snatched" anything on that series?

- Now the big one. 4th quarter roughly 6 minutes left. We're STILL up by 8 points. 21-13. McCree intercepts TB for the THIRD friggin time (riddle me this, how many teams have won a postseason game when their QB threw 2 or more picks? HINT: It's a very short list). Then Brown strips McCree and NE recovers. Now, to my mind, this and another subsequent play are the ONLY two plays in the game that are up for debate with regard to NE's ability to make serious game changing plays against SD in that game. Seriously. Think about it. We did it all game against NE. I think we owned BOTH lines of scrimmage that day. Nuff' said.

With regard to the McCree interception I know there are 2 ways to look at it. The NE way is to say great job Troy, way to make a play! Way to "snatch" a W. Ya, I know that's one way. Another way, dare I say the SD way to think about that is, great job Marlon, way to make a play on the ball. But you DUMBARSE, when you make a play on the ball? Don't get too happy. Don't lose focus (mental lapse)! Either sit your butt down right there, or? If you think you can take it to the house BE AWARE that you're carrying the friggin football.

- Sigh. After the TB strip. Sigh. Ricochet BURNS Jammer for a TD. Sigh. I'll go ahead and say good on NE. You made a play. Heheh, I know you're all thinking way to "snatch" a W about that play. I'm sure enough of you have seen the replay and understand why all I can say is: SIGH! Another mental lapse. I do understand that's what separates winners from losers.

I'm just saying you didn't intimidate us at all. We're not hardly scared. You won but we DO NOT feel like you beat us up and down the field. We DO NOT feel like we can't own you.

NE is instructional. Bottom line for SD? You're a stepping stone and a benchmark. We KNOW it's a big challenge. We ARE looking forward to it. Bank on it.

Not really. Parker was just about to pick the ball back up, but one of our ST aces, Antwain Spann, dove in and knocked Parker out of the picture allowing David Thomas to fall on the loose ball.

Yea, that's sorta true but you're missing the point. It wasn't as if NE had players in EP's face bearing down on him. It wasn't like you were at FIVE yards and were intimidating. No, that's not how it went down.

Look at the replay. I have. NE wasn't within 10 yards. It was our bad.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Rothlesberger throw a couple of picks in SB IX and still win?
You can spin the outcome of that game anyway you want, but the bottom line is that the Pats hung around to WIN that game. Whether it is attributed to dumb mistakes or lucky breaks, the bottom line is the Pats WON that game. Chargers fans will say they handed that game to the Pats and NE had no business winning. That is total BS!! It only amounts to whining! NE fans could make the same claims when we lost to Denver in the '05 playoffs when NE clearly could've won that game, but Denver made the plays when they needed to and they WON that game.

Say all you want, but I clearly doubt that 9/16 will be a day of reckoning for SD. NE will not lay down like the last time the Bolts came to Foxboro and NE will also have something to prove by shutting up all the naysayers and dilluted Chargers fans out there that believe they should be handed a victory just because Tomlinson carries the ball! It takes a team to win a football game, something that SD has yet to figure out!

Look, first off: It's "Day of Reckoning" for SD fans and players. I really do want to hand your westcoastern buttocks back to you guys in a bag, but the fact is, it's a game. There are 15 others. I do think it'll be a great one to watch, but "Day of Reckoning?" Those happen when it's "lose and go home" time.

Secondly, about the whys and wherefores of wins and losses...

Ladies, ladies, ladies, there is one thing that matters: W or L. If you won, you played the better game of football.

The NFL is set up to play each game once, unlike Madden or bulletin boards.

We won. You lost. We were the better football team. The Colts won. We lost. The Colts were the better football team.

Bad calls, felicitous turnovers, flu epidemics -- those things don't go for or against a given team more than half the time, over many seasons.

This is a fact NE fans know, because we have played in many, many big game in the past few years. A SD fan might be expected not to get it, because a big game is a rarity out there... so no, you haven't missed your "one big chance," if the team has any depth and philosophical/coaching continuity.

Question - hey guys, was that it? Are the Bolts an "ascendant superpower," or a depthless, coachless one-year wonder? We find out this year, definitely.

Seems likely to me that their physical talent will take the Chargers to the playoffs again... and if nobody else does it, we'll be there to take you guys down again.

You remember us? The guys that ended your season and sent Lady Tomlinson crying to the media for several weeks? Okay, think of that team plus Randy Moss, Adalius Thomas, Brandon Merriweather, Donte Stallworth, Wes Welker, and the additional depth pickups. Yeah, Dillon is gone. And?

By the way, think of saying "Yeah, Tomlinson is gone. And?"

Not quite the same. I'm starting to feel like the whole city of SD has delusions of rivalry.

Looking forward to helping you guys get off on the wrong foot. I do sense SD is the kind of team that could be knocked off kilter fairly easily with an early loss they invest a lot in emotionally -- though on the other hand, it would be sort of nice to see you guys in the playoffs rather than Denver.

Eh, six of one, half dozen of the other.

I think his point was Seau had the choice of which team to play for to get his ring and it appears he chose New England over San Diego. He's not going to be a dominant player anywhere, but its interesting that his "ring ride" is in Foxboro and not San Diego.

I love how you clowns want to laugh at our support of last year's MVP. I'm sure it come from all your humble roots! No arrogance here, that is for sure.

You know what is pathetic? The way pats fans used Merriman's comments at a rally to get yourselves souped up. Didja hear? Merriman said he would hit our primadonna in the mouth! Lame. As if he meant it as a literal idea?!

Here is what I had to say:

The sound bite came during the lamentable rally the Chargers had the week before the game. Merriman was asked what they'd do to Brady. He said, "punch him in the mouth". To Pats fan, it was a literal comment. Typical of their mindset.

Just imagine what they would be saying if Merriman's answer in front of a huge throng of fans was, "We're going to rush him and try to tackle him before he throws the ball."

The next time Merriman is asked the same question, I hope his answer is more diplomatic. Something like, "I'm going to rip his head off and **** down his neck." or, "I'm going to set up a weekly card game for him and Priest Holmes."

Win something and then you earn respect. San Diego is absolutely nothing and will remain so. Merriman was a ****y in Maryland and he is in San Diego. You guys finish behind Denver in the AFCW this year anyhow.

Well, the SD and Indy games were both games in which the better team lost IMO. SD should have beaten us, we should have beaten Indy. They didn't, we didn't. It's in the history books.

Looking ahead to week 2, the talent gap will be a lot closer now that we've added Moss, Stallworth, Thomas, Seau (presumably) and Harrison from the last matchup. Not sure what SD has added but I know it's not a list like that.

There is no way on earth that we will let them win this game @ home.
There is no way on earth that the Colts beat us twice this year.
In fact-we will go undefeated for the next two years.

LT will get a torn ACL and never be the same.

Goodnight.

Now how can anybody look at this post and call SD fans arrogant and delusional. PatsFanVa, you don't know what you are talking about.

First, LT didn't go crying to the media for weeks. He called out Hobbs and some of his overly giddy teammates for lacking class and put in on the coach. If the story had legs for weeks, it was due to the New England cheerleading squad that works for ESPN. If you want to talk about crybabies, look up: Brady, Tom - and check out the shopping list of receivers he force on management. Once upon a time, the Patriots drafted for depth instead of reaching for losers with potential and questionable ethics.

The fact of the matter is that the Chargers have built exceptional depth at most positions. AND they take care of their star players (can you say Branch?). If anything, the team lacked maturity. Maturity came from losing a playoff game and we filled depth at the few positions of need in the draft.

The team's philosophical and coaching approach is set by our GM who brought in coaches that either taught (Turner/Cam) or learned (Cottrel/Phillips) the same styles and terminology. In comparing the teams, I'll take the Chargers chemistry and continuity over the Pats. Hell, your best corner doesn't even want to play for you.

NE is taking a calculated risk with Stallworth, Moss and Merriweather. I doubt it will work. Its laughable that you'd call Merriman a ****y when your team signed two of the biggest wusses in the the league. Moss can't take a hit and won't be effective over the middle. He'll take plays off, guaranteed. Stallworth? 10 games, maybe. Seau? The dude should be grazing buffets, not attempting to come back for another 8 games. He hasn't played 16 in a season for the last four or five years...

You're right, it isn't a rivalry. It is a single game in September. Possibly a game that could decide where we'll meet in the post season. Unless of course, the Jets take your place.

Tell you what, I'll let you enjoy your delusions and arrogance as long as you allow me mine. As a loooong suffering fan, I deserve as much.

LT will get a torn ACL and never be the same.

Goodnight.

And if he does, we have Turner who was running the ball down your throat before Marty lost his mind and stopped running the ball.

And when your primadonna QB goes down, what? Nothing. Moss will quit, Maroony will run for 2 yds per carry and the Jets will win the AFC Least.

Win something and then you earn respect. San Diego is absolutely nothing and will remain so. Merriman was a ****y in Maryland and he is in San Diego. You guys finish behind Denver in the AFCW this year anyhow.
As if I need your respect? And just because NE is Denver's bltch, that don't mean SD will be too.

I have never met a more arrogant group of fans than of the Chargers.

Welcome to my ignore list, tool.
