Patriots have released Jonas Gray, per source.

Next time he will set 2 alarms.

I am assuming this is all about his attitude, both last year for being late, then whining and moaning about it in media, and generally having a sense of entitlement after that one game against the colts.

BB clearly feels this is one moron whose ego he doesn't want to deal with.

And.......... I hate this move.

I don't get this at all. How much was he making? I thought he looked pretty damn good in preseason. Who gets the carries week one? Cadet? Lewis?

I really counted on Jonas as a decent backup to Bluont. Releasing him is a bit surprising to me. That means more probable than not James White and Bolden bigger role in the offensive scheme.

A little surprised, but not totally shocked. Belichick must feel that Bolden can take more snaps at RB. Also likely means that Lewis and White are both staying (which most of us predicted anyway).

Another WTFer from BB.

I think too many third down backs were impressing and they weren't impressed with Jonas this preseason.

I can say that this move only mildly shocks me. I do not think they were ever as high on Gray as a lot of us were (myself included to an extent). This, to me, would seem to indicate Lewis, White and Cadet are all safe. It may also indicate that they are either going to bring in a FB or carry an extra player along either line.

Bolden is better than Gray?
