Just goes to show you simple Practice means more than people realize,not just getting in game shape and situational plays but imitating the NFLs best at the QB position so that you can be prepared and expect exactly what the opposing QB will do.

Apparently Damon along with the assistance of coach Hufnagle was a key player in practice with Damon playing Manning to near perfection..and it showed when we played them in the playoffs with so many turnovers.

It seems coincidental,but since Damon is gone we have struggled to beat the Colts whether it was by just a few yards like in the last meeting or by 20 points in the previous one before that - Was Damon more valuable to this team than people realize when it came to playing Indy becasue he was so good at impersonating? - or was it just coincidence? or maybe simply the fact that Payton has upped his game against us and is limiting mistakes?.

All I know is Damon was a member of the past glory years (and hopefully more glory years to come) and I wish him well in his new well deserved role in KC - Lets hope we meet KC in the playoffs and THEN take Damon's head off! - no love loss for the opposition! :rocker:

True,but we were still dominating them those 3 years - 2 of them were games on the way to the Super Bowl

The silly season is upon us.

For the next three months we will be seeing post like how many superbowls have we won without Omare Lowe keying the defense and Kenyatta Jones anchoring the OLine?

And we can't beat the Colts without Damon Huard.

It's going to be a long 10 weeks.

Don't try to use logic. Huard was helpful, as were 52 other players each year. Sure, we clobbered Indy after he left, but this isn't about making sense. patriot64 is either goofing around (I sincerely hope so) or just doesn't understand the difference between cause and effect and events happening at the same time.

"Gee, those times we beat the Colts it rained the previous Tuesday, and the times we lost it didn't rain. We need to find a legitmate rainmaker if we ever want to get back to the superbowl."

If you were to say Romeo Crennel or Rodney Harrison or Ty Law (though we managed without him one game ) that would make more sense.

Okay, so in the Brady era...

There were 4 games where we handled them while Huard was still around (twice in 01, twice in 03). Two were maulings, one was a near mauling, one was close.

There were two games post-Huard in which we beat them (twice in 04). One was close, one was a mauling.

Then there have been three games post_huard then we have since lost. One was a mauling, two were close.

Give those numbers to any statistician, and you know what they would say? "What, is that all you have?"

In other words, there is not enough of a sampling to make a statistically relevent determination.

Huard was so helpful that BB gave him the game ball from the 2003 play-off game against the Colts. Or haven't you watched your 3 Games to Glory II DVD lately.

Huard was a DAMN GOOD QB in terms of helping this team prep for Manning. To say otherwise is just dumb because even BB acknolwedged it.

I have to agree,Damon Huard was the BEST capable backup during Brady's tenure - I LOVED having Damon back up Tom because if Tom was to have had an injury then I was fully confident Huard would of and could of done the job till Tom healed up which thank god was never a realistic thing.

Hes proving it from what I saw last year in Kansas City that Huard definately IS a starting quality QB in this league and I think he will have a nice year.

The Chiefs had Huard on the sideline when they played the Colts in the playoffs and should have beaten them. Probably should have put him in the game since Green was horrendous, but what do you expect from Herm the Worm.

Thanks for posting. I never would've known about this story - unless I watched the 3 Games to Glory DVD and read all the stories written 3 years ago about this.
