@JoeBuscaglia: Into 7 on 7s now and EJ Manuel is still working with the third team. Taylor and Cassel with the 1s. #Bills

@JoeBuscaglia: #Bills QB Tyrod Taylor is dropping dimes in the current team drill possession against the first team

@AdamSchefter: Rex Ryan said Tyrod Taylor will start at QB in Buffalo's second preseason game Thursday night vs. Browns.

Any thoughts? I don't know much about Taylor but it looks like he has a real chance to win the job. Hopefully another Sanchez/Geno in the wings for Rex with that defense.

Taylor will be okay, but he's still a bottleneck. Manuel is terrible. Anything is better than him or Toul(sp?).

The Bills QB Race.... Is A Joke!

I can't sort cause and effect from bad luck WRT Rex and QB's.

Bills QB situation will deflate their season

In this "race", everyone is backpeddling. The QB who backs up the least, "wins". Taylor seems to be that guy.

It's awful. If they still had Orton then I would say that they had a shot at a 10 win season. Maybe.

Maybe it would be smart to offer him good money to reconsider the retirement, I still don't get this Matt Cassell signing, he's been awful for years, 2008 was a fluke and the result of a good environment.

Bills QB race?

It's gonna be close.

The Bill's defense will play well enough to hide some of the flaws in their offense this season, is my hunch.

What is funny is...none of their QBs are as good as Sanchez.

Ouch.

He had a couple of decent years in KC. He needs a ton of talented playmakers around him to be good. He has a few in BUF but I agree, he's a very average QB.

What is it going to take for teams to recognize that Rexxy isn't HC material, and will not help your offense?

Hire him as your DC and get a real HC to run the show.

Unless the show you are hoping to run is Barnum and Bailey, in which case Rex is your man.

I saw a report recently somewhere that said Rex tried to trade for Geno this offseason and the Jets wouldn't... Lmao... Now nobody can have him...

It is interesting that his dad was also a pathetically inept offensive mind.

You would think that a brilliant defensive coach would be able to orchestrate a good offensive system. Not the case.

I highly doubt that. Impossible, Geno had the worst season I've ever seen for a QB last year, and his rookie year was also garbage apart for a game or 2.

Because he isn't brilliant, he is bluster.
Brilliant defensive coaches don't finish in the bottom 3rd in points and have the worst takeaway record in the league.
Rex is 'brilliant' because he tells you he is and does well in a stat that is not nearly as important as the ones he is bad in.

But but but he threw 3 touchdowns in his last game last year, so he must be good! He was playing for Rex!!!!

The fascinating narrative where he was a seventh round pick who hadn't played a game since high school, then finally playing against whom he backed up (Matt Leinart, standing on the sideline, making 20x the money) seems like ancient history. His career turned out pretty good all things considered.

Having in-prime Moss and Welker would do wonders for any QB I'm guessing.
